I have both and i must say slim is better playing outside daylight than the oled one And lifespan is longer too Oled i use for home and i take the slim in my daily commute But if u can find one, go wit the slim

What I think is Sony don’t do like Nintendo The Nintendo ds have some upgrades bigger screens ,3d and little bit faster processor And sony only down graded the vita I my personal opinion the vita is my first option for play portable video games and my second one is the game boy advance

No doubt the Oled has more saturated colours and a wee bit sharper, but just for the fun of it I downloaded a few image test patterns and ran it on both my vitas The colour on the Vita is oversaturated, and whites are not are not really whites with a blue-ish hue (further away from the benchmark 65k) This is not a bad thing for games I suppose but its a no-no for hardcore videophiles Black levels on the other hand is way superior to the Slim, contrast ratio (not to be mixed up with contrast) is great on the Vita The gap between the 2 screens are brought down when both is at its highest brightness, but I rarely go above 50 under normal viewing conditions The Slim is also easier on the eyes with a more natural pallete, all professionally calibrated screens are This is why we always hear people saying the Slim has a more natural colour, which it has For gaming though, a slight bump in saturation like what the Vita provides is always a welcome addition My personal opinion, I like the Slim more because of the natural colours but Im sacrificing darker and deeper blacks with a more saturated colour Saturated is not always a good thing when it comes to neutrality Guess you cant have it all

Why does everything on the LCD screen look so green? Do LCD screens really do that? THe difference is quite present, and while the slim does offer 1GB of memory, and better sound (debatable, I disagree), being a picture purist, i enjoyed the OLED and say, Uncharted Golden Abyss on my original Vita over the Slim model

I actually had bought a Vita 1000 on launch day here in As but sold it a few months later due to not many games I likebut I was intending to get another at a later date Anyways I bought a slim the other day and after playing it for an hour I took it BACK to BigW and swapped it for the 1000 series (they had a couple left at the back of display case lucky for me lol!brbrThe yellow tinge to the screen was instantly noticeable to me after having owned a launch vita in the past and using a Samsung mobile phone with an AMOLEDI just couldn't not notice it, it really bothered me Also it felt more cheap, like one of those cheap fake PSP they had at $2 shops (yeah not AS bad but still)!brbrThe micro USB and top indicator lights on the slim were nice and I wish were on the 1000 series but still, that LCD screen was a deal breaker! Some ppl say its not that important or different but it sure was to me, and how can an inferior screen NOT be important? Every second you use the vita your staring at the screen lol, kinda important to have it look at its best!

Old screen is good but have fun cause it's not reliable with chances of it getting burns, dead pixels are very high Plus you can't even put it on full brightness or you'll fuck it up And the screen sucks outside anyway which it's a handheld portable system that's retarted and the colors are over saturated anyway So everyone bragging about having the old one saying it's so much better fuck off and stop trying to make yourself feel better by saying it cause it's not at all and your screen will be fucked soon anyway the slim is way better and will last way longer

I don't mind the sacrifce in colours too much what I am worried about is shitty ugly scan lines when motion is displayed which was very noticible in comparrison to a psp phat vs a psp slim ( can anyone confirm obvious scanlines in motions going on ps vita slim ?
