Imagine how Satan's thoughts in this moment, he's got time to spare so on a whim checks to see if John isn't actually BSing him, finds that yeah Gabriel actually is trying to bring hell on earth before it's due date Probably instantly suspected God wouldn't be backing Gabriel so he just casually enjoys the moment before going back to claim John

I like the tropes are flipped here - Satan wearing white, often only worn of angels (granted he is one, he might be fallen but still an Angel)brbrGabriel wearing clothing representing submission/constraintbrbrWhat I don’t understand is Gabriel is willing to release the devil’s son on the world by killing and manipulation, yet is quite willing to attempt to strike down Lucifer; all the while thinking their actions isn’t being watch?

The slowing of time goes deeper than just Lucifer playing around with all of them He says "this world willl be mine, in time" which indicates he lives outside our concept of time entirely What feels like an eternity to us is just a moment for him Gabriel has been jealously obsessing about humans for so long she has assumed our weaknesses as well - not only her insantiy, but also the pressing sensation of urgency and impatience; hence she experiences time like we do It's only when something truly momentous is about to happen that Lucifer aligns himself with our world in order to interfere
