I really like how powerful Angels appear in this movie, noticed how effortlessly Gabriel keeps him down with the foot and chokes him with ease Really gave the impact that God's power is absolute and was ever more satisfying when it got stripped away

Thing is, Gabriel is expected to be male, however there are plenty of depictions and descriptions of angels being androgynous, so I feel like tilda is playing a male character and because of her feminine traits, she makes the character more hard to receive what exactly they are as, we recognize those feminine traits as well as know she is a woman, thus catagorize Gabriel as being a woman And sure, perhaps they’re playing a masculine dressed woman, or a feminine man? It’s supposed to leave you confused and trying to catagorize as angels are supposed to technically be difficult to comprehend, so even on a small level, being androgynous meets that criteria I’ve not seen someone once refer to this Gabriel as a’he’ but a ‘she’, as if a female looking male Gabriel is impossible or just automatically female because the actor is female I don’t think Gabriel’s gender identity is ever even referred to in the movie, so it’s completely up to interpretation And given that Gabriel is typically depicted as male, I’m inclined to believe tilda was playing a male character to give it that androgynous vibe
