I have a clicking sound and inaccessible drive Seagate st3500410SV went bad after a power outtage I was suspecting a bad board so I bought a replacement drive of identical capacity though the model is st3500312cs I tried replacing the boards and swapping the eeprom to the donor board and it still had the same issue I dumped the contents of both bins for comparison and the faulty drive contains data a file comparison shows similarities but very different data nonetheless I swapped the donor board's eeprom to the faulty board and back onto the donor drive and it worked just fine So that leads me to suspect either the eeprom has corrupted data or the heads are bad on the patient drive Either that or there is something stored in the eeprom that prevents the drive from starting, maybe an error counter or something Any Ideas?brbrThere are portions of the donor board's eeprom that is FFed out that the patient eeprom has data in Tomorrow I will try to FF out that part of the eeprom on the patient bin and flash it back to see if that changes anything Comment from : Jorge Luis
