@purljade
After seeing your "look at my holes" top I immediately bought the pattern, cast on (with a merino, 4ply, multicoloured handdyed yarn from my local dyer purple sprouting), and finished watching the podcast knitting on that -- thank you for the inspiration!

How are the no nylon socks doing? Very interested to know

I've got a Valais fleece I'm yet to spin, having never worked with this breed before - either as yarn or as an animal (farmers daughter, shearer, knitter and spinner here)! - so seeing yours is really inspiring me! Your Boskular is just stunning too!!

What's your project bag you had next to your boskular jumper? I love it! Also you have such a lovely vibe, I love your channeel and knits!

@fishcove5
Love your flower sweater! As for scraps, Jooles from SewSweetViolet podcast calls them "beautiful bits" for the same reason To call them scraps seems like a negative when they can be used to make such lovely things I have been watching you from your beginning and I marvel at how quickly you have tackled some pretty complicated knitter You certainly do not seem like someone who has fairly recently taken up knitting Love your calm demeanor and you and your husband Carla

@chet1051
I love Jacobs also :) In the US , the Jacob is a very small size They are mainly white with black , gray and some times brown spots They have impressive horns that can be really cured or strait Sometimes there’s more than one set of horns ! The fiber can be very fine and soft with a high crimp to barely a wave , depending what part of sheep the locks from Thank you for sharing all the beautiful knitting and nature 😊

@kathydent2116
I've recently started knitting with undyed Jacob wool (West Yorkshire Spinners) and I'm using it for the Glaswegian - a colourwork cardigan I especially like the brown/black, which is the colour of very dark chocolate, and the ecru, which is a lovely rich cream colour with a soft texture Some of it is a little bit greasy to the touch and smells of lanolin, but I expect that will soon wash out For anyone who wants to try a traditional wool at an affordable price, I think it's good value

@cherylclough4309
I am working on your Spring Intentions Shawl as we speakI got the yarn from Whistlebare I am loving the whole process, both the pattern and the yarn Thanks for creating it Love that sweater with the flowers Not sure my skill is up to it yet, but perhaps one day I have a special place in my heart for Jacobs, especially the dark ones Also, the Hebridean sheep (Love Scotland)

Such a generous offering of 'local to you' yarn - thank you Kat and Alex! I've also just discovered a sheep farmer closeby who is having her sheep's fleeces spun into yarn and selling it It's called Fibre and Forge and I'm very excited to have discovered them and so look forward to wearing a garment made from this local treasure I understand how excited you're feeling about your lovely yarn!
Comment from : @edytheneumann4656

@angeladavenport40
Oh my goodness I enjoyed the videos of the sheep and yarn today! I have been learning to spin wool which has given me a new appreciation of different types of animal fiber and how they translate into knitting And I am soooo loving your nature videos at the end Absolutely magical!!

@grape123
Sheep and goats are very gentle animals for the most part I remember my dad had a billy goat named Pistol and he was massive with humongous horns, but he was so calm and sweet much like an old dog We would feed him peanuts and lettuce:)

@thebassclarinetist
Hi Kat, your podcast is completely delightful and brings so much joy to my week, thank you for taking time for this! brI am the same way that with jumpers I am enjoying and could knit super quickly, I intentionally have to slow myself to prolong the process Usually I limit myself to a time or a certain amount of rows and save it for a special time of day so I can look forward to it I have just started a Pink Velvet by Andrea Mowry using merino/silk singles in a robin's egg blue with a local baby suri alpaca in a cream shade It feels luxurious to be knitting on and am taking my time brHave a lovely week!
Comment from : @thebassclarinetist

@catherinetuwi6267
I love the footage of the great crested grebe diving Thanks for taking us out with you to see the ducks and divers!brOh and sharing your knitting That flower motif jumper is beautiful!brAnd I'm interested in how durable the socks are And I love to see your spinning and fleece source journey brVery exciting, and those black faced sheep with the crazy mane of fleece on top of their heads are very cute!

@s_56564
That wildflower jumper is adorable and just perfect on you I really wish I could join the KAL (I've even done up a colour palette on Illustrator), but I have 103954023948 projects, and now that the school term is in full swing, almost no time at all to craft Also, the Boskular looks just like a death metal band logo, so obviously, it's going on my to-knit list Thanks for sharing all your cool projects as always!

Hi Katt I am sure i can arrange for you to shear a sheep but we are in South Wales Also if you would like a fleece Let me know as the market for fleece is very poor at the moment due to covid The lack of carpets being made etc I can pinch one off my daughter for you 😉😉 They are shearing in June this year Xx
