Hey there Rob, great video if the mine! I live in Atikokan and took a little tour of the site 2 days ago Just to let you know, the shaft went down 1,100 feet, but the crew worked mostly at 900 feet

I'm from atikokan, now in thunderbay for college but me and my friends always went up there on snowmachInes quads dirt bikes and I heard from a little bird in caland open pit mine has huge walleye off the shore all though it's illegal so don't try! Great video really shows others around what our little town had and will always been know for

Awesome stuff! I live in gold mining central in Northeastern Ontario and it really is amazing how many old mine sites are scattered throughout the bush

Hey Rob, I found your video by accident, the Gold Rock Mine tour was great as I had seen part of it before on Cubbee channel as I sub him this one I can directly relate, I have been to the bottom of steep rock lake when the mine was operational My Brother lives in Atikokan and he was a friend of mine super?(think he was, could be wrong) Leon and he took me down in a 1/2 ton truck, quite impressive thanks for the tour Will keep an eye on your videos

That was an awesome tour! We had been there looking around a bit about 10 years ago in the truck but didn't see all the goodies that you did Were you just touring in the truck or did you have the atv there? Was this the mine that they were talking about re-opening? I thought I remembered something about a fish farm around there too? Pretty cool adventure, thanks for the tour!

Great video Dad! Some epic engineering in our own neighbourhood I knew about the reversing of flow to help drain the lake, but I didn't know they actually dug a bathtub drain into the bottom of Finlayson Lake?! Definitely would never get environmental approvals to do that sort of thing nowadays, lol! By the way How many ticks did you pick up during your adventure?
