My Papaw bought a large piece of property which I’ve later found out included an old mine come to find out we now own the mine which has been abandoned since the 50’s I’ve been working on restoring some of the old mine carts and one of the old compressed air locomotives to run again Comment from : Ryan Campbell |

You guys should go back with a generator for places like this to see if you can get the lights on Would be an incredible experience Comment from : Ryan McEnroe |
Someone who knows all about mines and the equipment should spend a month there filming everything and explaining what everything does especially since it doesn't look like it's going to last for very long!!! Comment from : Glenn |
I didn't see any no trespassing signs and the mine is not even locked up so I don't know if those workers would say anything or not??? Comment from : Glenn |

This is extremely dangerous guys, you all need more ppe equipment if you're going to do this Comment from : Noisy Cricket |
Invest in a higher quality PGM (get 2 of them) they should come with a calibrating gas cylinder as well / confined spaces and bad air that isn't circulated will engulf and incapacitate you rapidly (within seconds in some cases) brAnother thing to consider with abandoned mine exploration is that a lot of the steelwork is coated with chromium / lead / asbestos based paints brLagging on the pipes you see generally will be asbestos bondedbrbrHave another method to back track if you need to get out rapidly (glowsticks / blinkers / trackline / chalk paint) Comment from : 12Deathcon |
Does this mine remind anyone of that supernatural mine in Fallout 4? Dunwich Borer or something similar? Comment from : Eric |

15:38 Looks like a Reed vise That thing is worth at least $700 and possibly a lot more depending on the model Really infuriating seeing these machine shops (mines, ships, oil rigs, government facilities) always abandoned with tens of thousands of dollars of tools and hardware just left to rot Comment from : MoCoBrad |

You guys need to watch some of the more knowledgeable mine exploring shows before you get yourself killed ! Comment from : Doug Morley |
Guys, I cannot help but stress safety in these old mines Abandoned buildings are one thing, sure, but an old mine, especially rusting metal equipment like in that mine, can give way at any moment and you guys were walking on a lot of old rusted, stairs Also, you could walk down a shaft and think you're fine when, as another poster has said, that section of tunnel/shaft has collapsed behind and now you're screwed Please, when going into an underground structure, try to go with someone who has previously explored the structure as another precaution, or at least try to find a blueprint/map of the underground areas from when the works were going on Comment from : Boban Ristovski |
I just wonder, if you ask the workers/any officials that are there that you are photographers and you just wanna photograph around and inside the mine if they would allow you to so you don't have to sneak around Comment from : Harvey Kauffman |
I think I'll play Half Life 2 later today Comment from : Diazepamo |

Ideal site for fallout series Comment from : paulus121212 |
“KEEP OUT, BAD AIR”brbrbgoes inside/b Comment from : Nik |
195 oxygen is considered the low end of the safe limits Below this your decision making is impaired Obvious but the comment of “keep going and turn it off”, the amount of rust and the heavy breathing Comment from : hotswapster |
This is brave and also very foolish Not nearly adequate PPE- or even clothes for the conditions- no decent emergency plan Mapping prone to possible errors Walking in on a visibly caving in ceiling before what was obviously a collapsebrbrGreat footage, but seriously those are toxic chemicals Also, no H2S monitor Comment from : Olivia |
It's not that the oxygen is low, it's that you don't know what is replacing the oxygen that's the major threat There's a whole bunch of gasses you regularly find in mines that you won't be aware are killing you, because your body doesn't react to them like you'd expect, until you're in a heap on the floor - usually in an old mine you'd assume it was hydrogen sulphide which is yes: stupid dangerous, but it has a very distinct smell, if it doesn't smell you'd usually assume it was CO2 or Hydrogen; the pernicious water vapour in the air is a little bit of a clue to that, both are gasses you want nothing to do with Also do the world a favour and don't explore mines without a helmet, it is so dangerous, even modern mines - stuff can and does fall off the backs of mines that will kill you and a helmet might save you from - they're not expensive for reasonably decent ones The rods by the way are in what is called a rod mill Also I was wincing at the just casually walking over the false floors like they were nothing :) Comment from : streaky |
NOPE!! No way I would go in there… But I’m glad you guys did! Comment from : Train Nerd |
When young people go randomly missing Comment from : Dennis Cumbie |
28:32 Glad the air warning finally went off Comment from : A R |
8:54 This is one of the few times I'm worried about your guy's welfare Mines are a special kind of beast Comment from : A R |
7:16 Might want to spend a little more on the life saving equipment 😉 Comment from : A R |
Its Nice to see the town is still standing almost 40 years later! My father Lived and worked in the mines of Gilman in the early 60's and was one of the last residents to leave in the mid 80's Still have tons of Photos of the Town! Comment from : Exploring More Colorado |
Please bring good carbon monixide and gas monitors with you into mines! They are knwon for killing explorers through air alone Comment from : Too Many Opinions |
Canon AE1is a good camera to shoot film with👍 Comment from : Bee Enn |
Someone's stomach is angry there That or you guys were being tracked by angry wendigos 😅 Comment from : Faydra Girl |
35:15 a rod mill indeed meant for crushing Comment from : killernat |
very familiar with this site Worked with the caretaker at one point in my career Pretty safe mine as far as the state goes I always found the town at the top to be a good place to explore as well Comment from : Andrew Kaunisto |
Jesus, the coolest part of any old mine or building or anything is the old machines and equipment that was left behind but these guys could careless, they just walk by them That is problem with this generation, God help us Comment from : BS Noodleman |
bIn some corners of the mine, gases can be generated that kill instantly, they are not protected/bbriOn the other hand, if everything is rusty, imagine working for years in that one, you will have finished your days just as you can see/i Comment from : Oscar H |
Cool i own that mine and now i know whos been trespassing! The NO TRESPASSING signs along the railroad should have told you i will be getting a hold of you Comment from : 335theduke |
It's so awesome that you know they got a tear stuff like this down and it can't be used because you know some political interest wants to gerrymander that particular area in their advantage I think it's a really awesome laboratory I'm glad that you guys were able to document it before it was destroyed Comment from : brokendash |
The rock is most likely pyrite, Fools gold, It becomes acidic with moisture by the way I think it was detecting hydrogen gas, Which is a little scary because in gold processing and others they use hydrgoen cyanide to process and separate minerals etc Be careful Comment from : fhhsvnggbh |
I'd be scared to death of being trapped in there Comment from : Nathan B Grooms |
Not only are you guys great urban explorers, you're also great videographers and photographers I love the effort you guys put into your editing Comment from : Nathan B Grooms |
The rusted stairs would be a no go for me The underground machine shop was awesome Comment from : paulz5531 |
