FX706HCB (2021) asus tuf already has FACTORY holes like in this modified plate and it still VERY VERY HOT!!! brcpu / gpu 95100 / 8088 C (i5 11400h/3050/16gb)bri`ve solved overheatting by disabling turbo boost and limitting maximum processor loading to 99 in power management settingsbrnow it has CPU temp 7073 Cbrps thermal paste - arctic mx-4 Comment from : @_ryder_ |

The problem with this is that there is some chokes and VRMs that does not have heat sink on them and Asus designed it to require air to pass over them When you cut those holes, less air gets sucked in from the holes in the center behind the laptop, thus increasing the temps on the VRMs and chokes but decrease temperature on the gpu and cpubrI would recommend to place some DIY heat sink on those chokes and VRMs to better help cooling Comment from : @TocyBlox |

Are you running it on performance or turbo mode ? Comment from : @aleksaleks5302 |

I was looking for a similar videoas I had the sad idea of drilling holes after watching the Alienware laptops having vents directly above the fan I already undervolt and temps are high Currently waiting for the Knife to get delivered and I'll cut mine up soon Comment from : @EraserNinja |
Wow, you did these holes perfectly Did you use only a knife for that? I mean, yeah, the plastic in there is pretty thin, but damn, I'm sure i will break something doing it with a knife Great job, definitely gonna try that after the warranty expires, thanks for the video Comment from : @sadge0 |
hello , brilliant video , im going to try this later , but may I ask , what if you ran it now with a external cooling pad, are there any more beneficial temperatures? Comment from : @muhdshariq4307 |
Thank you for experimenting & sharing your resultsbrI have an other laptop model, it's an i3 1005G1 processor, it runs so hot like reaches 80-90s on startup I'm using thermal grizzly Kryonaut paste brAfter seeing this video I'm going to widen the air vents on laptop to increase air flow Comment from : @Beast80K |
i have this laptop with the same problem When I do not do anything with a laptop, the temperature is between 40 and 55 degrees But as soon as I enter a game, in one second the temperature reaches 80 degrees and stays between 80 and 90 degrees for a long timeAs soon as I leave the game, the temperature immediately reaches 80 to 50 degrees Is it normal ? brWhen I'm in the game, all parts of the laptop are cool, but the top of the laptop below the screen is very hot brI also use a 6-fan Coolpad with a fan speed of 2600rpm Comment from : @parsam6747 |
now add liquid metal thermal paste and put it on a notebook cooleriam pretty sure it will give an awesome result^^ Comment from : @Bergwacht |
The hot air from the laptop escapes only from the back? or in the right too? and if its on the right too, ur hand on the mouse is getting hotter? Comment from : @Merc_Benz |
what if i take off back panel and put it on a cooling pad ? thanks Comment from : @almas011 |
I can‘t cut hohles XD it‘s not working Comment from : @natmat2329 |
Hi,br Asus TUF claims that its design is such that the fans get cleaned automatically So will making these holes make them unable to do so?? have you observed anything like this on your laptop?brTIA Comment from : @shubhangbhargava682 |
You can just unlock the bios, changing the algorithm to allow the undervolt -100mv will reduce around 20degrees at 40 ghz all cores That's my setup Max 80degrees full load Comment from : @ptsp8632 |
i kinda new one for this gaming laptop, if i do the same, would it void my warranty? Comment from : @teukudimas505 |
Great video man🤩🤩 Comment from : @tejsangani579 |
Planning to buy a15 but I dont wanna cut just like u did Does cooling pad/fan helps? Thanks! 😊 Comment from : @ilokanoboi |

Nice proof of concept to cool the laptop I have an older Asus multimedia laptop and it gets hot also I just Jack it up off the desktop so it gets a bit more airflow When I'm processing videos it definitely gets hotter and I just have a small desk fan I direct toward it doing those Peak Duty Cycles What commands do I have to enter in Windows 10 to see the temperature? Comment from : @biketothetop |
Nice 👍 pretty cool! Comment from : @ADVNevada |
that's some nice diy thing to dobut I've a question, will it avoid Warranty? and also asus mentioned that those vents are made to cool keyboard , if we cut these extra holes , will it make keyboard hot ? and I'm using extra cooling pad and my cpu temperature is going almost 74° while 4-6 hrs of gameplay and rendering time it goes to 77-80° will you suggest me to do this? and will it improve cooling? my specs rygen 7 4800H , 1650ti Comment from : @IdiotGaming |
