My Sogo Vivian doesn't like semi-hydro It was fine in the setup but no new growth of roots and the roots adapted to the semi-hydro starting to rot after a year had to transitioned back to organic

Thanks for this great video I have transferred 2 Rhynchostylis gigantea into self-watering leca in September 2020 and they are doing great! Certainly something worth a try

I am going to try leca in self-watering pots for my Phals from now on Most of them immediately lost their roots in straight semi-hydro Except my specialty Phals they transitioned to semi-hydro and didn’t skip a beat, even my violacea! All my Brassavolas seem to love it All my cats seem to be doing well Annabelles at the orchid rooms idea to top dress with non-wicking pebbles made a huge difference I put my yellow bird Brassavola in SH about a month ago and it has seven new growths on it!!! 😳 thanks for the month by month, that was super helpful 💕

1:00, did something similar, but what I did is that I soaked their pots in kelp max, calmag, and msu(both msu and calmag were very small concentrations) and I would soak their pots in this maybe 3-5 times I let their pots dry out completely before doing it again, I made sure to flush well in between soaks, so 1 week they get a kelp soak and another a flush I did this and only made my move for semi hydro when I saw new root tips growing or branching from existing roots/base of plant(that is how I know the soaks are working)

Bessho is a great hybrid I hope yours blooms soon and we can compare blooms I wish mine had the slight twist in the petals but you can't have everything
