Great video! Would add that when it comes to children, know they can be part of the scam (cause people won't expect this) Children can be used as the distraction, or they do the stealing part, and there is the "lost child" scam As someone mentioned in the chat, there really is no limit to how far people are willing to go when it comes to scamming others, unfortunately

2018 St Thomas we fell for the “this place is closed” trap however the aquarium actually was closed due to hurricane aftermath Open sided taxi bus driver was waiting and offered a personal tour around the island We took her up on it and ended up having a good tour, good food ( but we couldn’t buy the Jonny cakes without buying the fish-so we did and fish was amazing!)as well as a contact for the next day to take us to St John ferrybr That was a terrifying high brspeed back roads hair raising trip but she got us there just in time and in one piece We were taken for a ride in more than one sense, probably taken advantage of, but it’s our most memorable story to tell about our trip to StThomas But I’ll bet she was in cahoots with the bus driver who dropped us off at the closed aquarium 😂

I have seen a few of the scams you mentioned The character photo one - I saw that in Portugal There was a guy dressed like a Roman Centurion and he didn't want anyone taking a photo (like at a distance) without paying him for it The knockoffs, the bracelets - I've seen that in Paris, Rome, etc Another scam I saw primarily in Florence is the artwork on the street These "artists" put their artworks on the ground and if you happen to step on them, you will have to pay and exorbitant price They usually set up shop around the Cathedral I also swear by PacSafe! I am glad you mentioned the fake menus and the phone call to the room regarding needing your CC number I've never experienced either of those, but it's good to be aware Thanks for this video

It's scary to know how much scam is happening around the world And as you mention, even at places that are supposed to be a happy place But it's good to be careful and not to naive, which I am trying to learn not to be I always wanna believe that people are genuine and nice and not having ulterior motive Are you and your family going to Disney a lot this summer? I'm curious what Traveling Princess is going to react to that big place🤗🩷

A variation of the pickpocket spilling scenario happened to a friend of ours in Buenos Aires, and requires at least two people One person squirts the victim with mustard, the second person says oh my gosh, a bird just crapped on your jacket/shirt, let me help you clean it off, and the first person (or a third person) grabs the wallet while the victim is distracted

Many of these scams are and should be a concern not only for tourists but for basically everyone cause the scammers target anyone who’s naive enough not only tourists

I don’t wish to crap all over air bnb But it’s not a hotel and it’s totally unregulated brI will say in Vienna there are ticket people on the street who do sell tickets and they are real They dress in period costume

Regarding the Disney cruise We have cruised many times with MSC, Royal Caribbean and Costa, these are all probably same level with Norwegian and Carnival Disney is much better, plus your daughter will love the characters, and it will also bring the inner child in you We enjoyed it very much!!

More specific to tours than hotels but 3rd party aggregator type websites lately have been known for selling more tickets than there are seats available Makes for a big mess for the operator One of many reasons I only sell direct right now
