There's a gentleman in the UK named Shane Pomeroy and he's also building his Stirling engine model His model is powered by wood-burning rocket stove He has done some interesting tests You can search: "Stirling Engine Generator - 6 Hour Endurance run! Part 11"

I also love stirling engines but I have "forgotten" about them the last years, I just don't have enough time to invest to make prototypes and test things My idea is to use one or two big low diferential temperature stirling engines that run "between" the wall of my home taking advantadge of the cold outside in the winter and the warm inside (0ºC outside and 20ºC inside) or from the hot outside and the cold inside on the summer (45ºC outside and 22-23ºC inside) I think the advantadge of those low differential temperature stirling engines is that they don't make noise and you can keep them running 24/7 The problem is i don't know if the 20ºC delta temp is enough to run them and I don't have the time to try it

300 Watt electrical output, or shaft power? Is this with air as the working fluid inside the engine?brIf your engine is nicely sealed, try pressurizing with helium; it should make a big difference in output, even with the same energy inputbrDid you manage to make a small, low friction, shaft seal? I found it not that difficult to make one for a 1/4" dia shaft
