As a grocery store worker, please have ONE person in your family do the shopping EVERY TIME Don’t bring the whole family and especially with small kids who touch everything It reduces the chances of picking up the virus and makes physical distancing easier because you don’t have to navigate around families and couples Also, get what you need in the least amount of trips

The safest way to shop is NOT Let Anyone Inside The Store! If people had to line up outside in different lines depending on if they do or don't have COVID-19 You would order your groceries on a tablet at a table just outside of the store and someone inside will gather and bag your groceries

Wearing gloves makes it worse because if you touch something that has the virus on it you now have it on your gloves so everything you touch while wearing gloves will get the virus on it Sanitize your cart than shop as you would normally and wash hands as soon as you can So many things to consider it's really hard to know what's right

I also suggest not asking for a receipt Ask if the receipt can be texted to your phone or emailed to you If those options aren't available, use your cell phone to take a picture of the register with the total Registers that I've seen at grocery stores typically have monitors shown to customers with the total and itemized list with prices for each one
