personally i wouldnt go for it unless you dont care bout playing super intensive games you could probably go for a 4060 yea its like 100 more or you could get a used 3060 as mostly because dlss and stuff if ur going budget sure go for it though but if u wanna run like cyberpunk max u wont be able to do it

The GTX series was never meant for ray tracing It's software RT rendering just is not fast enough compared to hardware based in the RTX series I tried it myself on my GTX 1660 and the framerate and image quality dropped drastically

I have more or less the same card, also a 1080Ti, also a Gigabyte, but different cooler but also with 3 fans, but that's for contectbrDon't know if I'm doing something wrong or I need to reapply thermal paste but my card gets to about 90 degrees in full load The card in this video stay below 70, how??

You can actually turn on Ray Tracing in Cyberpunk on Pascal (1000) series gpus by using the command /Cyberpunk2077exe" -gpuFlag forceRayTracing yes, tried it on a 1070Ti Local RT is fine turning on the rest really tanks FPS RT Sun Shadows look like crap even if I turn on XeSS/FSR the game runs pretty bad with RT

I bought a desktop of market place with the 1080 ti msi monitor speakers mouse keyboard etc for like 600 bucks and man I was surprised how well it does at ultra setting 1080P I have a laptop with a rtx 3060 I think don’t quote me on that but I know it’s a 3 series and man comparing the both just off performance I’m very pleased graphiclly obviously the rtx is better but man I can’t lie ultra 1080 is still pretty good with no stutters or nothing

On Metro Exodus ray tracing on GTX cards is only for the global illumination and shadows, the real time lighting and reflections don't work without an RTX card

5-6 years later this is still a great card and one of the best products nvidia ever put out, dated sure, but the value for money for the time puts the new cards to shame You can't even get a new mid tier card for the price of a 1080ti back in the day The mid tier 3000 cards were stuck with only 8 gigs of vram, they simply weren't worth the money

If you actually want to play the game, raytracing is totally irrelevant Disabling raytracing only affects reflections and makes a trvial difference

1080p looks like crap nowadays I wouldn't go any lower than 1440p I gamed at 1080p 5 years ago but 1080p is now the old 720p 4k by the end of 2025 will be the new mainstream resolution All of these new GPUs can handle 4k easily My 6800XT can handle most games in 4k

I'm always amazed at how well the 1080 ti handles ray tracing without rt cores nor tensor cores, just pure strenght and power! It's an absolute monster! I got a 1660 ti 'cause I got a pretty good deal but otherwise I would definitely have gotten the 1080 ti

I loved this card Only card I loved more was my GTX 1070 G1 Gaming That thing ran way above 2200Mhz core clocks :O GTX 1080 Ti was also better than my RTX 3080, which has great performance and all but it's just not the same fun to overclock
