So I finished my build 2 days ago I have a ryzen 2600x on an aorus b450m mobo and an evga clc 240mm aio cooler I’m getting idle temps of 80-99c , tried a new thermal paste(arctic mx4) and still the same Did I get a bad cooler or cpu?

On another note if you get a 2600 in a pre-built PC, and it's already slightly overclocked, I recommend turning off simultaneous multithreading Otherwise performance is lost from slow virtual core usage hindering full utilization It may be different for everybody but you can run benchmark tests with and without it to determine what works better

Precision Boost Overdrive actually already puts the processor's max clock speed at 395GHz So this overclock is basically useless because you're only wasting more energy when you don't need it

I would never let any cpu go over max temp of 75c I have a i7 6700k and a cryorig h5 cooler set to quiet and at 1295v with 46ghz I get max temps of 64c

just put a new buld together ryzen 2600x with the h60 cooler everything stock idle temps are sitting around 45 and load temps are around 75 are these temps normal? i have always build intel and am use to getting 50c under load lol

I run my AMD processor at 45-50°C and on 100 CPU load on 4 cores, it goes up to 65-66°C That is excellent, because hot CPUs live shorter

On my new 2600 I can get 41 ghz AIDA64 stable at around 13v on a B350 board, 40ghz is also appeared to be stable with 121v I could possibly push 42ghz on a better board, it seemed not to like anything below 14v which is a bit risky given the voltage actually changes yellow in bios once I push it past 135v which probably wouldn't be an issue on a more premium board however I wouldn't like to push the B350's VRM's past the motherboards own recommendationsbrbrAs for temps unlike ryzen 1st gen there appears to be two, the CPU temp and the node temp from the cores itself On a custom loop with a 360 rad 60 mins AIDA at 41ghz was getting 54 degrees C on CPU & bouncing around 65-70 on the node Idle both stabilize around 22-24 C

🙂 another reviewer stated that its best to get the X version instead, because it comes with a half decent chunky cooler The non x cooler version is garbage because no one shud b using that skinny cooler unless its mounted on top of an Atom or Celeron CPU! 😒🐢🐢
