heating and cooling are in 90° to the rod movement, so producing the maximal torque when the rod is moving easiest, that´s good but why use a rod/piston to make linear motion, since circular motion is more practical, and you begin anyway with circular motion in the first place? Absence of a regenerator, which is main part of Stirling Engine Comment from : Imam Santosa |

That can not work that way You have to let out the cooled and contracted air out, when the space is down, and there must be a connecting pipe between the both orange chambers The volume of the orange chambers must be reduced, otherwise the unneeded "dead volume" would weaken the volume changes, that should press up or suck down the piston Comment from : rick57hart |

@sabriath I think by the animation that the air can move around the edge of the orange displacer thing, so it has room to expand and contract and sends that pressure change to the area under the piston immediately
As far as the heat during 3/4 of the cycle, it's basically like that on all stirling engines Heat is applied constantly but not constantly used You could heat an oil bath in an insulated thermos-like container so that it is stored instead of just flying away Comment from : JaycubL |
|
@JaycubL : Because the space that is heated and cooled has no room for expansion, and when it enters the alignment of the piston, it gives it less than 20 degrees of mobility to do so while the top piston moves merely 2 of the entire stroke line There is no actual power stroke directly or indirectly at all Plus, while the chamber moves the medium away from the heat, that entire 270 degrees or so is wasting the heat energy imparted to the side, same with cold Comment from : Robert Caldwell |

@sabriath I see it, this a beutiful design It has two power strokes, one when the space in the rotating displacer is on the hot side and one on the cold side How do you not see it? Comment from : JaycubL |

Is this phun or is it another simulator? Comment from : okayillgonow |

I fail to see a power stroke Try again Comment from : Robert Caldwell |

nice concept Comment from : SWINGREGORY |
