Do you think the exposed steel will rust? I'm thinking about doing a simpler version of your mod to my card I have the same model I'd like to sand down the whole plate and spray paint some initials onto it but I don't know how the bare metal will behave over time Will it rust/oxidize? I've got the 3080 version of this card and on air the temps are hilarious, I was hitting 87c in some games on the air cooler and had to downclock the core just to get it down to a reasonable temperature as it was throttling like crazy I don't have shit air intake on my case either, it was 6 fans on a front 360 rad so plenty of air flow over the card (albeit warmed up air)brGot the card in my custom loop now so at least I don't need to deal with the original backplate anymore (never goes over 40c now) Comment from : MrNotSoPerfect |

You're so concerned about the look of your backplate, yet you can't see anything with that hideous Noctua air cooler and fans How about ditching the air cooler and covering the backplate with custom acrylic design with defused RGB and lighting zones to truly make your logo/design pop Use 4 discrete magnets for mounting This way you can always update your design as your style and tastes change?
