My issue is somewhat different, but I would love to have a solutionbrbrI have an HP EliteBook 9480, The battery functions perfectly, BUTbrWhen the laptop is plugged into the wall, the battery indicator recognizes the battery & reports charging levels But when it is running on battery power (which it does without issues) the indicator claims I have no battery installed Laptop operating without batterymagic! Otherwise the laptop work perfectlybrbrIt is not a software issue, as the issue is identical in Windows AND Linux (I actually "upgraded" to Linux in an attempt to solve the problem) HP customer support is just an endless loop of frustrations and repeated software based solutions that always ends with 'install HP support app", which, when I did does not help, and finds no issuesbrbrI've swapped batteries, and that doesn't help If anyone reading this has a suggestion, PLEASE let me know I am convinced, having tried mutiple OSes, that the issue is a hardware one

I do have the battery icon on my desktop, which it keeps reading 1 charging When I pull the plug out, the computer goes off The light on laptop keeps flashing yellow-white I tried both methods but doesn't change anything I guess I need a new battery or a new laptop This one is from 2015

Thanks The command in the prompt didn't work but the resetting the battery management system did I had two APCI and reset them both I guess this is another way of planned obsolescence from the manufacturers Shame on them!

My laptop had these issues and I was using it fine but the next day I plugged the charger in but it’s not turning on however the battery light is blinking to indicate it’s charging and the bulb icon also is green to indicate the laptop is on What could the reason cos it won’t turn on so I can’t check if it’s a software issue

Thks for the quick advice to try disable the battery ACPI Compliant control, but it doesn't work I also tried to use power troubleshoot that set the power option to default & balance optionbrbrThe trouble started when I had left my ASUS TX201LA unused for a few months and the battery gone totally flat as usual(Asus transformer defective design) But this time it refuses to charge again always showing 0 available I suspect the lithium battery safety mechanism has deactivated the battery after detecting voltage below threshold brbrHow can I do further without replacing battery as Im in a 3rd world country now without access? Should I update my BIOS, even take out the battery to reactivate it by force charging? thks
