ALSO, children who r home schooled generally end up dressing & acting like their parents & grandparents! Ever seen a public school kid tuck in his t-shirt in & carry a handkerchief? Only in the nurse's office with a bloody nose! This is what I mean Stop controlling ur child's every move & thoughts Your principals and morals are YOUR responsibility, and just because you can't find the time to teach them these things after they home from public school DOES NOT meant you need to homeschool them

the question isn't whether or not it's working for you family, it's whether or not it's working for your CHILD in the adult world, NOBODY GIVES A SHIT about how high your home schooled child's test scores were Today's society requires extensive practice and experience communicating & socializing with peers, whether it's in person or through e-mail/telephone Your home schooled children will NOT possess the social equity needed to these interactions

Actually check out the CURRICULUM What are they using? Are they using Fuzzy Math? EDM or Terc Investigations? Are they using Basal Sight Word? What are they using to teach writing? Is is TC? Are they using Teachers College Reading and Writing Workshop (a repackaging of Whole Language)? Really it's SO important to know these things Finally I have found that the elementary schools have poor curriculum but high schools are better Dig Parents it's your kids and they need the BEST!

@SPeacock i completely agree im a 10th grade student who is absolutely desperate to homeschool, but my parents wont go for it it's my education, not theirs

@15livestrong So obviously you are older now, judging from your answer But what about when you were younger, no church, no job etc Was it still OK?? the reason I ask is I'm thinking about home schooling my 8 year old daughter and the social life is one of the things I'm concerned about
