If anyone is having rough time killing him (i always get to the third round but die) I highly suggest using the ichimonji skill in the vid, it's basically easy mode with it lol, i was using the whirlwind slash not the best art to use against him

One devious thing the devs did was make the timing for the mikiri counter of his thrust attack slightly later in the 2nd phase, so once you get the timing down in the 1st phase it throws you off in the 2nd

Quite an old video but I just used this to absolute perfection to beat Genichiro without TOO much drama I'm not a Souls vet whatsoever, but I'm really finding taking the fights slow and watching the movesets helpful to get through them Thank you for such a great guide, even if it was from years ago!

You can also jump over his sweep attack on his second health bar and jump kick him for some posture damage, I find it much easier
