Good tip If you want simplicity don’t buy a quarter turn tap The old fashioned full turn taps are simple to fix and a new washer costs pence I don’t intend buying any more quarter turn taps

Hi I noticed it's the top and bottom 'teeth' (the one that 'bangs' together when you close the faucet) in the cartridge that wears out, the ceramic discs are usually very long lasting You'll notice this in some cartridges, even if you've replaced the ceramic dics/ceramic bearing, it still drips, it's the worn out 'teeth' that's the causebrbrIt seems brass is too soft, especially with hard water I highly recommend buying the brand Rosco which offers a really harder stainless steel cartridge I tested with a magnet, usually stainless steel, if it's got a lot of chromium and/or carbon (thus harder) doesn't get attracted to magnetbrbrbrPerhaps if the cartridge is only available in brass, I'm not sure, but if you can have the 'teeth' (both on the teeth that moves or the 'teeth' that's stationary) be plated in stainless steel, chromium, silicon carbide or boron carbide, the cartridges would be significantly more durable than just brassbrbrMerry Christmas, God bless, Revelation 21:4

I have mixer taps on my bath which I think are probably quarter turn taps as you turn the hot tap anti clockwise to turn on and the cold tap clockwise when turning on On my handbasin the hot and cold both turn anti clockwise to run them Is it normal to get less pressure on the quarter turn taps

You can reverse the left and right hand quarter turn tap if you take it apart brbrIf your quarter turn starts leaking get a rubber washer Stick some grease on the bottom of it so it sticks Put it back in and tighten upit fixes it 9 times out of ten
