First video I've found with my style of taps at 1:30 brDid think they just needed to pull off as there were no grub screws, but they were VERY tight on and didn't want to try levering them off without confirmation brNow just need to get a strap wrench or similar, to stop the tap turning when getting the valve out brMany thanks! I have Linkware Kirra lever taps in our bathroom, how do I remove the lever to replace the seal? Comment from : Justin McCabe |
|
At about 2 mins the spanner is on the wrong way round for undoing (correct later for doing up) If it's tight a ring spanner may work better Use your other hand to support the tap to apply counter force, particularly for upright non mixer taps In extreme cases tape the spout (or use plastic or hardwood fillets) and stop it rotating with a big adjustable (may still mark the chrome) P S Always put the plug in when handling the tap head screw 😊 And remember it's magic when you are done ❤ Comment from : John Coppock |

We are trying to replace the valves on a Franke Valais and there's a brass sleeve which should slide off the splines but it's solid Anyone got any idea what to do about it Tried lightly tapping it Tried pouring hot and cold water on also Comment from : Peter Roberts |

So I'm probably showing myself up here, but do you just miss out on the what you need to do once you take it apart? Do you have to buy a new cartridge if tap is dripping? Or is it a case of a washer or something in the cartridge? Sorry it just seem like you've not explained that bit Comment from : fatsoulcrew |

Still does not explain how to remove the shroud off my 1/4 turn tap that seems to keep me from the spindle nut Onward with the search Comment from : OZTutoh |

One thing you have not covered is a single lever mixer cartridge tap it would be nice to see how to do that one I have watched several other videos that cover it but on my 8 year old Band Q mixer tap the top part of the cartridge comes off but there is a plastic barrel that does not want to come out and the top retaining ring of the on/off lever snaps into this non removable barrel Is this a type that is not replaceable, and you have to buy a complete new mixer tap? I hope not as this was a £90 odd tap eight years ago Comment from : SAMRODIAN |

I have a Bririta Strauna 3 valve tap I have removed the grub screw from the cold ( hard water main ) tap head, but it will not pull off, Would the lever arm also need removing from the tap head? Comment from : Nick Westwood |
|
Nice video - thanks I have a kitchen tap with two quarter-turn handles that go down for on, and back to upright for off One of them started to go slightly past upright and drip, and we had to position it carefully upright to stop the drip Over a couple of months it's now going further past upright, and is harder to find the proper "off" spot Does this sound like a cartridge replacement, or just an adjustment ?? Thanks Comment from : Peter Doyle |
