you mentioned you used an MSI Z490 Godlike, intel, your paid links point towards that motherboard, but that's actually an MSI X570 Godlike, which is amd, you mentioned the best cpu for a sli rig, (an intel cpu at the time) apologised to amd for it, yet used a ryzen processor for these tests?

The irony is the frame generation could solve those 10 of dips to the FPS, and you could do the rendering asynchronously so that the viewer never sees the native frame rate, but a latency adjusted properly frame paced output

In 1998 you needed 2 Voodoo 2 cards in SLI to run Quake 2 on maximumbrIn 2020 you still need 2 cards in SLI to run Quake 2 on maximumbrbr20 years and nothing has changed SLI still usefull only in 1-2 games I'm suprised it took so many years to die

I never looked that deep into SLI and had always thought using 2 graphics cards would be like having 200 power for everything Not 130ish power on some games, or even <100 power on others Let alone most game not supporting SLI at all

Sli is making a comeback with RTX now Ray tracing is a perfect parallel task for multi gpus Unreal 5 supports it out of the box and the stuttering issues are much less a concern since its easy to split the workload between two gpus by dividing the pixels between the two gpus You illustrated this when you ran Quake 2 RTX at the end Probably will see more sli based ray traced games in the future

It’s insane that the 4090 destroys x2 3090’s That doesn’t even make sense haha my 4090 is OC’d to 3050 mhz and 11600 memory and my brothers system was a best everything computer a year or so ago with SLI 3090’s and my 4090 is 20 morebrFps on any game we try lol 😂 My card was $1750 and his were $1400 each!!! 😳

It sucks that concept did not work It was brilliant idea that you could buy a decent GPU, and by the time you need an upgrade, rather than getting a new expensive GPU, you would just get by now aged and thus cheaper GPUbrThough tbf it might have just increased prices of older GPUs, making it less worth it after all
