tower cooler is overkill unles you using PBO ALL TIME Comment from : željko klepač |

You could try locking the voltage and locking the CPU to a higher number; it runs easily over 3700 with the normal 11 voltage I tried 3800, 3900, 4000, and now 4100, and there was not a single crash in gaming or a CPU stress test The ideal would be to test until you fail to find a stable clock for the voltagebrbrThere is very little difference in temperature because the voltage is still the same; on default settings, the voltage goes to 13 or even 14, so running 11 or 12 should still run much colderbrbrbrI imagine most 5600x should be able to run way over the default 3700, even with the horrible stock coolerbrbrbrThe temperature goes up more because of voltage than clock speed, but without voltage, the CPU crashes if the clock goes up Comment from : eric silva |

I play average low-spec games and tend to get extremely high CPU temps for their elements (70-90C somehow), disabled and managed to get the same as my idle temps without difficulty Really good as the stuff I'm doing doesnt use power yet I haven't gotten my thermal paste so I plan on keeping this till I do get it Thanks for the guide Comment from : nu |
|
By the way disabling Core Performance Boost means your CPU will not longer boost to 4650MHz It will stay at 3700MHz So it will probably be slower in very CPU intensive tasks like exporting videos or optimising shaders for games Comment from : Cosmic Void |
|
I have the same motherboard and CPU Comment from : Cosmic Void |
