How can a blockchain be used as a currency if it isnt private? People wont want that in my opinion and for good reason If the world goes crypto, a blockchain focused on privacy should be used Hopefully bitcoin gets an update to bring privacy, scalability and decentralization in one package

Monero has some services that match BTC/XMR trades using atomic swaps -- so you can use BTC for saving and XMR for transfers Having a little sliver of your wealth allocated to XMR has a lot of benefits -- and you can build that with CPU mining

If i learned anything from this is that the monero community is as passionate about monero as bitcoin community is about btc Definitely a lot of smart people in monero and definitely a value proposition in monero Although im not going to throw my life saving into monero, this has definitely peaked my interest and will be at least getting some and learning more about Also although I very much appreciate matt for his continued efforts in educating the masses about bitcoin, there were some claims made in the video that were very easily refuted or corrected by the monero community, particularly on reddit

even monero(which is TOTALLY better than bitcoin in almost every way) has its issues cryptocomicon's thesis i believe is closest to the truth regarding btc xmr turns out without cypher text and homomorphic encryption(the ability to compute encrypted data without un encrypting it) is key the gov can watch everything you do even on monero with monero they dont know how much is being sent or received or who recieved it, but with the hardware we use privacy doesnt exist much anyways so its incomplete Dero has the potential to be the best crypto protocol by far quantum resistant, homomorphic, cypher text and can use smart contracts like ethereum to generate the entire defi stack its pow based as well and highly decentralized, you can mine it on your phone! also they validate it by transaction so its immune to 51 attack as well the only issue is the premine which is not significant but not small either, and also it hasnt been battle tested so it could be bs, ive listened to people from that community though and they seem genuine enough to me hard to say btc will be co opted to oblivion
