What was making the clunking sound

i'm fairly certain you can even see in this video what's causing this the brake pad is wrong size and when you hit the brakes, it shifts within the caliper upwards (tangentially to the rotation of the brake rotor), hits the caliper and makes the sound

Yup I try to buy OEM components whenever possible on things like engine, transmission, brakes and suspension parts

I think this is what I am expecting on my 2012 Chevy Equinox It feels like you’re running over something like you would when you’re driving on the road It usually makes that sound when breaking or turning :/

The brake pad moves a bit when brake pressure is applied I had the same issue on my Acura, it's a common problem with pad fitment on many cars In my case, I just had to re-fit the pad hardwares and backplates and the noise was gone It has absolutely nothing to do with the rotor, unless it's below minimum thickness by a lot

Had the same problem on a new bmw, dealer replaced pads and put a paste on the back of the pads, hopefully that will prevent it from sliding We'll see

t think u need to weld the pad hook,grind it down to fit perfectly to the brackets and clips should solve the issue

Yep same problem 07 4runner! Just bought it and started doing this when dude said yeah man New brakes Uh huh Riiiiight! So I did this same thing and waalaa brakes! Dude even said he did them! I am laughing cause I should have known better!
