My seal was nested inside those plastic walls The new seal I got was slightly bigger and wanted to rest on top of the enclosure I can't find a seal that fits inside like the original, so I guess I need to buy a new flush valve unit? Comment from : Weekend Home Projects |
My valve failed open and flooded out my bathroom and would have flooded the whole house if I didn't catch it in time, I was downstairs and heard water running so I ran upstairs and turned off the water A torrent of water was flowing over the bowl Dual flush is a scary design for a toilet I think the old style is safer Comment from : David Crandall |

The writing on the seal MEANS NOTHING In fact once the circle seal is off, turn it upside down when replacing The toilet generally leaks because its been damaged, worn or scratched Comment from : Kevin Hedge |
When I depressed the tabs they released the cylinder but would only allow it to lift about an inch or so I cannot get it to release and fully lift out Any suggestions would be appreciated Comment from : Larry Procunier |
This worked great! Like others, my unit twisted out and back in Cleaned and replaced gasket and running has stopped Thank you! Comment from : Betsy Klimasmith |
Thanks! I was just about to order a new flush valve On mine the rubber washer was absolutely fine and the culprit was actually some of the leftover plastic skin you get on certain toilet blocks I’ll not use those anymore! Comment from : Nick Rogerson |
These type of flush systems always leak or mild dribble after a short period they are designed that way, the problem is the valve does not sit correctly or limescale or dirt, also the valve itself wears outbrTo check flush the toilet allow the bowl to dry if it can, put paper tissue around the bowl if its wet its dribblingbrDo not fit these types of systems if you have a water meter!, because it will reflect in your bill!brolder type flush siphon systems are better designed last for decades and have been round for some considerable timebrToilets should be reliable and functional and not a fashion statement Comment from : enoch powellsghost |

It's good that so many have had success with this method but I don't think I'll chance it When they made my toilet cistern they broke the mold It's just a weird setup, plus the button assembly that screws down through the lid is ridiculously complicated to line up Comment from : Lumabi25 |
It worked! My toilet has been dribbling for ages and randomly flushing My water bill is huge I tried doing this last year but didn't have the confidence/knowledge to remove the centre bit It's a twist mechanism But I've done it and I think it's stopped! |
Please plumbers get customers to switch BACK to back to a lever flush syphon system, since the push button valves leak after a few years and cause water waste of 2-4 flushes a day down the pan!brbrThis is due to bits of limescale getting in the flush valves seal causing water waste Comment from : jim jammy |
