WRONG Please be more careful when doing measurements it is easily readable @ 8:34 that the pcb is 16mm thick I paused the video here - I can only imagine how skewed this is going to be brFor the record, I love your videos Jay, I just know that this is probably already in the comments or will be for certain in the future Comment from : D rock |
Oh great, I just had to see this video when I have a gigabyte 4090 coming in the mail tomorrow 🥲 Comment from : Robert Sludock |
GPU sag is a never ending problems… brbrSome Solutions:brbr- The rise of vertical stands for graphics, but covers most of the portsbrbrAs someone who doesn’t want to invest in full water cooling / can’t afford it… In built AIO for graphics card should be the new trend Comment from : S O Я Я U S |
there need to be a pcb revision badly!!!!!!!!!!!! NO TRACES SHOULD BE GOING NEAR THIS WEAK POINT IN THE PCB AT ALL!!!! IN ANY LAYERS Layer 0-12 / 1--15 or how ever many LAYERS there are on a particular PCB Comment from : MetalKidX3D |
So should I not get a aero 4090? It comes with a nice anti sag bracket that goes along the whole gpu and attaches to the motherboard Hoping that would keep it good Comment from : Aidan Sedore |
gigabyte still haven't removed that PCB cutout from new 40 series gpu's, i looked at several gigabyte unboxing videos ion the last week and its still there, bit of a shame cause their cards are better value than most Comment from : Kez |
Hmmm sounds like class action lawsuit time!!! Comment from : Bill Logsdon |
the board weighs less than 2 ounces and they are hanging barbells off of it idk how they hold up as good as they do an evga 1070 has visable sag and it weighs nothing in comparison Comment from : elk horse |

Strange, my Gigabyte 2070 has been rock solid for years while my friends MSI 3090 needed warrantee 3 time The good thing for him was MSI hooked him up with used 4090 Nevada they couldn't fix his old 3090 Comment from : M D |

maybe it's time to not call them video cards anymore, because it's starting to look more like a brick Comment from : coolbath |
Your ASUS card has a bracket near the flex point which is transferring load at that point similar to a load bearing wall in a house That bracket will not allow the PCB to flex far enough to crack it's why it seems more ridgid Because it is! Comment from : Christopher Furtado |
with the weight of the 40 series cards why not just vertical mount it? Comment from : CINQUANTE DIX COQUE |
Hi there @Jayztwocents,brI've just ordered Gigabyte Windforce RTX 4070 OC 12GB and after seeing your video, I'm going to return it once it's delivered But before that I'd like to know if you had a chance to test Windforce version It's smaller so the risk of PCB cracks is lower but I have a doubt if it can crack anyway during eg installing it in PCIE port due to poor PCB quality Gigabyte could have used in the card I've just bought Comment from : Wojciech Trojanowski |
Man off topic but, I finally bought a PC screwdriver kit with everything like the stars the HEXs etc and finally opened my 2080Ti FTW3 for the first time in two years and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, a little electric duster with a toothbrush, some small paintbrushes etc and it’s running great still One of my fans squeals after it goes above 25 so I keep that one at 25 static and run the other ones around 60-75 while gaming Bought some good aftermarket fans for it just incase but I’m getting a 4070Ti soon anyway But man, the plastic shroud being screwed in with star screws is ridiculous They REALLY don’t want us fixing our own stuff Comment from : -BUGZ- |
nvidia has been price goujing AIB so much, Gigabyte can't even make UltraDurable PCBs anymore Comment from : PoRRasturvaT |

I somehow put my trust in MSI,as they EVIDENTLY put their money on the quality of their products Of all the brands, they obviously are the ones that are keeping some corporate shady bussines at the minimumAnd BEFORE all you brand gatekeepers start counter-argumenting me,no,I most definately didn't say they NEVER did nothing wrongI am saying that out of all companies, they are doing the least shady bussines THINK ABOUT IT Comment from : thechudoviste |

Keeping my fingers crossed for my unicorn EVGA RTX 3080TI as many times as I've had to re-seat the card Had a bad one right out of the box and got a replacement but so far so good now Comment from : SmokeRingHalo |
Lol don't buy shady gigabyte cards ok Comment from : Sproutt |
This looks like damage from not releasing the PCI Express tab locking mechanism first before removing the card So what does it look like when someone is pulling there card as it's locked to the slot before unlocking the tab? Also some damage from gpu sag? Comment from : Spyplane |

I could see people pulling another "not in all the way" user error being the lead cause with some underlying negligible fault to the company With how heavy cards have gotten for even say a 3060ti and up, slotting them in with the motherboard in a vertical position is something a first timer might do wrong My 4070ti from Gigabyte is a full 35mm longer than one of my 2 long lost Asus 780ti DCU ii and a slot thicker brbrShould the tab be bigger or redesigned/mobo slot redesign? Absolutely, but I wish we had access to some sort of sales numbers to see how many gigabyte cards are in the wild vs other vendors Given they are typically the cheapest by a good margin without being an oem I'd imagine that Gigabyte has the most units sold these last 2 generations, at least in Western Canada Comment from : MDX Gano |
is the 4080 realy so much stronger or is the nearby screw preventing the pcb to flex? it acts like an ankerpooint right? Comment from : SKOBone |
Anyone knows if there is still this problem nowadays? Comment from : Gioele Foschi |
This is why I am going to be going with the gigabyte 2 fan 4060ti since it’s not as chunky and heavy Comment from : Nick |

i just stopped by to say that this channel is fantastic and i recommend all the members to continue supporting the whole team JayzTwoCents, unfortunately for me I can't support it ( money ) because life in my country is very difficult and even to save money for a new GPU it will take me 2 a 3 years and it's a 220€ gpu because if it was a 500€ GPU it would take me 6 years, anyway, congratulations on your good work and keep up the good work Comment from : Tiago Silva |
moral of the story, dont buy gigabyte, if they don't get ahead of this, it is going to bite their business in the ass Comment from : cgwworldministries |

Why are the cards mounted vertically who not have the MB horizontal ? I would be happy to have my pc take up a bigger footprint Seems moronic tbh Comment from : Michael Wall |
yah modern GPUs are FUCKING MASSIVE not a huge surprise that this is happening but it's good to know that I will be needing to buy a GPU support bracket when i upgrade to a new card from my 1080 lol Comment from : Werner Rahfeldt |

That little hook is a really bad design Even if it were made of metal, it would be a weak point Comment from : Michelle Stone |

stopped trusting gigabyte after my build around 4 or 5 years ago had issues supplying power to multiple USB ports at once for simple peripherals Comment from : Koltred |
So I just wanna add one more comment about the flex The fact that it is flexing might not itself be a bad thing It could also in fact mean that the material doesn't crack as easily Instead of cracking it flexes Harder material could initially be more rigid and tougher until it just cracks from too much stress Of course some materials can be more rigid and flexible than others at same time, so there is that of course I am just saying that depending on the application of the material, flex doesn't automatically mean it's weaker Comment from : piimii |
It's braking because the user don't use Anti Sag So who cares Comment from : T3AMRR |
Gigabyte is in my black list of companies not only because of that Gigabyte sucks in overall USB problems on their motherboard, their software etc Comment from : Looki2000 |
I used to have a bunch of GPU installed and when you go to remove them that hook can be hard to unlatch Not sure if that was part of their thought process in having the latch very clear? maybe? Comment from : Erics Automotive Diagnostics and Repair |

These big cards should be mounted vertical for me there is no other way to ensure there are no forces at work thatd end a card like this Comment from : Ben |
It seems like as if the whole card is moving when you wiggle the gigabyte card It does not happen with the Asus one It's better fixatedbrSo I guess it feels like more since you literally wiggle the whole card Comment from : foxeh123 |
bGigabyte is a low-quality brand I've had enough of them Buy anything but Gigabyte/b Comment from : Random Access Memories |
Yet another reason why I only buy ASUS, NVIDIA and Intel Never had an issue with those brands Not once! In well over 20 years Comment from : Don1984 |
Wow, Gigabyte actually made it back onto my "companies to buy from" after having bought their 1080ti aorus and having such a great experience with it Also looking at some of their large form monitors, 48" 4k monitors look great Now damnbrbrA shame, with EVGA out of the game, I no longer have a no brainer go to Asus honored their warrenty when I burned out an R9 295x2, in fact, I burnt out a hybrid card, they didnt have another to replace it with, so they gave me an Ares IV (special edition card) When I sold it on EBay years later, I got more for the card used than I paid for the original card So right now Asus and ?brbrA real shame EVGA is out of the game Comment from : AAA |
The 30 and 40 series cards are massive if your not using a sag holder your begging for trouble Comment from : guydodge |
All i got from this wasbrbrNEVER buy Gigabyte GPUs for any reasonbrbrGigabyte might start honoring their warranties when someone has the balls to slap a Class Action lawsuit against them Comment from : Steven Caskey |
Ebay is full of 30 series gigabyte for sale Buyer be ware Comment from : Silent Menace |
Guess my gigabyte 2070 windforce will be my last gigabyte card I went msi with my new mobo instead of asus, which I hope works out I need to watch the gigabyte PSU issue too Comment from : impaledface |

Out of 6 motherboards that I've had over the years only my single Gigabyte board was the one that spontaneously died in a spectacular display of sparks, fire and smoke It also wasn't user error btw Comment from : Womz |
My Gigabyte 1080 ti had to be returned as the VRMs cracked - I was given a refurb as a replacementbrbrEven though Gigabyte identified it as a manufacturing fault, it took some serious persuading by myself to get the replacement card To say i was p****d off would be an understatementbrbrI swore never to own a Gigabyte graphics card again and have been a happy owner of an MSI 2080 ti since, which is still going strong🤘 Comment from : Azza |
i hate the locking connecter on gpus Comment from : xeamum ceo |

Stop buying the product like bud light, the company will either fix it or go broke Comment from : Rott Weiler |
First Gigabyte card I owned was a 960 Windforce and honestly was great, still going now I believe and software was fine Went for a Gigabyte again due to my good experience with them and purchased a 3070 but in less than 2 years the software had just packed up and stopped allowing me to change RGB after moving to another system and back again Couldn't change the LCD either on the Master card which ofc made one of its main selling points, I just got it coz it was all I could get at the time Sold the card waiting for a new card but I'm honestly loving the break from gaming atm Always bought mid tier cards but the top end of them because I believed I would get better components Comment from : GoOhm |
Why would you honor a warranty when you already got the suck- i mean customers money? Comment from : Synadic |
0:01brah NVIDIA LoL Comment from : Not all Gaming |
Just don't buy Gibabyte anymore unless you have no other option ASRock is better than they are now! LOL Comment from : Jeremy Skibba |
I use the supplied support arm with my gigachad 4090 I doubt it helps much since it contacts the flimsy plastic fan covers and it contacts toward the mobo which is not the best place to support I'm thinking to tension the pci power cable which in theory would support the card very well Comment from : Sherry |
