I understand that Bitcoin uses a lot of energy (5 of one percent of entire global energy) and I'm OK with that However, someone or some board needs to invest in a method to keep track and report on how energy for mining is procured We can't have people like Pomp saying it's 60/70/80 percent renewable without backing those claims up with facts It's ridiculous

Such BS, even if Bitcoin does use renewables we don’t have a surplus of renewables That energy could be used to supply industry and cut down their use of non-renewables Also the computation Bitcoin does it basically useless It’s designed to do big meaningless computations just to slow down the production of new Bitcoin You might aswell plug in a million heaters for no reason and leave them running and say it’s driving renewables
