Hi DanniJUST LOVE YOUR CHANNEL !!! I am fairly NEW to orchids I have had my first encounter with trial and error ) :(((( anyhow no use crying over split milk as they say u live and learn in this area any area too in life in generalany how with baby orchids after planting them OFF The mother plant and into their own home after the 3 seconds of initial watering you just leave them for a 1-2 month period before watering again ?? And just harden them off as you say?? Just would like to know when you can water them again and start fertizling them SLOWLY when would you start and HOW do you know when to start will you see MORE roots in the container I have a keiki which grew OUT of medium and totally in the AIR before planting it in it's own home3 inch wide by maybe 2 inch high net pot with A LOT of holes for air ventilationI also have a sickly orchid too again trail and error BUT the leaves are still amazing green and it has a flower spike NO flowers as it only had ONE root I could save I sprayed hydrogen peroxide in water on it before I repotted it Both the baby and the sick plant are in the same containers VERY small ones for now like what repotmecom has those net pots VERY small ones LOVE their supplies Comment from : @orchidsrosesg_disone4431 |

Danni, I must say that you are very inspiring when it comes to your hobby of growing orchids So much so, I have phalenopsis now in my home I do have a question that I want you to answer for me My first orchid developed so many blooms that one actually snapped off It was quite heavy as it bloomed nineteen blooms on one flower spike and twenty one, plus two buds The one that had nineteen blooms was the one that snapped I was washing some dishes at the sink, admiring my beautiful orchids, and the one that had the nineteen blooms snapped just above the first bloom on the spike Did I do something wrong, or is it sometimes normal with heavy blooming that you have to support them more? I indeed was heartbroken when it snapped off, leaving only one bloom The other one now has twenty two blooms, and is supported by a skewer carefully taped to the support rod, and clipped with the growing cascade I'm not taking any chances with that one It may sound silly, but I named her Henrietta The second one I purchased last Friday,, and she is in beautiful bloom Currently there are two flower spikes, and one has several blossoms yet to burst into beauty Solid purple Phaleneopsis BTW her name is Mary Beth I had never considered growing Orchids before, but they are such a fun hobby I found out I wanted to ask if I had done anything wrong with the cascade snapping on its own Love your channel, and will continue to watch as my beautiful Orchids bloom Thanks a million Comment from : @markwmullins2208 |

Hi, I got an orchid as a gift and I had no clue what to do with it It was in this teeny plastic pot with moss type medium and it didn't look so good so I took it out of there I messed around with my own mix and re-potted it (mistake obviously lol) The blooms fell off and the spike turned black and had to cut it off because I didn't want the entire plant to die out brLuckily, I found your channel and started to learn a little more about this unique plant I got orchid potting medium, rinsed the roots out a bit (got green almost right away), and placed her in her new home Its been about 3 months, she's still kickin' but she doesn't have a spike, barely has a stem and doesn't look like she's growing at all What should I do with her? I don't want to give up on her brThank you for the instructional videos! :) Comment from : @ameltesa |
I am an orchid noobie, but wanted to make a comment/suggestion: your orchids in this video seem to all lay down It appears that since your light source is from above the leaves and roots are actually spreading out to give the most surface area to receive more light, just as if they were climbing a tree Maybe if the light were from the sides they would grow a bit more upright? Let me know if this is totally wrongI just want my orchid to live :) Comment from : @BellaEssentialLiving |
My orchid roots are starting to crack and turning brown What should i do? Some of its flowers are dying prematurely too Comment from : @sueMC908 |

HibrMy phal few root residuals buried inside the pot which are not connected to pot Is it a good idea to leave it as it is or should I think of repotting in fresh media I am concern over rotting Comment from : @ghodkedc |
I like the idea with a string around the inside pot I have to try it Comment from : @AM-px9kx |
Hi Miss Orchid, I have been watching your videos and taking care of a very sick Phalaenopsis orchid I got the potting mix from the same company you recommended and repot the orchid Only, most of the roots are dead, I cut off both flower spikes so the orchid can focus on producing roots and leaves But I also moved recently, and heard that moving orchid can change its environment and harm its growth? Also, is coconut good for a sick orchid? I lost 2 bottom leaves and have 3 left, but they’re looking worse each day, (not as perky, but still green) Please please help! Comment from : @Simplentertainments |

Im trying to rescue a mini phil orchid ive had it for about 3 months When should i check to see if its growing any roots? Or should i? The roots look super poor but when i water it i still see some green blackish roots(almost looks like bark) Comment from : @aimeedunn8893 |

Dani, you’ve taught me so much Desperately trying to save 2 phalanops given to my by grandchildren One is 2 years old and the other is 1 Have you ever planted 2 in the same pot? It’s 8” across and in a bark medium Now, thanks to you, all the dead roots are cleaned away Should I pot them separately? Good green leaves, air roots, but no blooms Thank you Comment from : @marjorieberg6780 |
Hi, I am not a ‘green thumb’ at all however I received a phal orchid gift and managed to keep it going through two bloomings Yay!!! Now I think I’m hooked which brings me to my present dilemma I rescued a phal orchid from a doctor’s surgery I felt so sorry for it as nobody had time to water it They told me I could take it and try to revive it I took it, cut off the absolutely dried out spikes and repotted it according to your instructions 😬 My question is, assuming I’ve done it properly how long before I know wether I’ve killed it 😞 or saved it ☺️ Comment from : @wendycraig6664 |
I just got a new orchid and was replanting it and noticed that it seems to have some type of sponge around the center (bulb) under the leaves Should I leave it? Its really stuck to the plant, but, also seams to the really wet and like it might cause rotbrAnother orchid I have (Dendrobium phalaenopsis orchid
) that lost all its roots before I could re-plant it has been rootless but living for over 6 months, should I be doing anything different to encourage root growth? Comment from : @leahreinsager8237 |

I think that if Phal's roots grow very aerial is because the plant lives in an environment with a good humidity rate Comment from : @alessandropaini1554 |

Love your vedios I have phal whose roots are not growing as you mentioned, and I am worried I got it in the beginning of winter and repotted it with sphagnum moss because it was in the sphagnum moss I water it when the medium looks dry And feed with plant food mist once a week I see just 3-4 roots in a healthy gray green color but they don't seem to grow Temperature in my home is 67 f Comment from : @shwethalv7454 |

Hi Dani! I am Not new to Orchids, However I usually kill them I recently got 2 on sale at my local Lowe’s! I repotted them because they were in all Moss and sitting in water which I learned from you is not good I repotted to the Orchid bark mixture and added some extra perlite and vermiculite! My concern is I am loosing leaves since I did this I make certain they get light from a west facing window so no direct sun They sit on the same table by my french doors One is blooming away and the other is having one leaf at a time turn yellow and fall off It is growing new leaves and the ones falling are lower leaves! I am careful with watering as I feel I killed previous one by over watering and not changing the medium! Am I doing something wrong? Comment from : @bethadamik2273 |
You are awesome!!!!! Thank you! Comment from : @wendibaldwin6564 |
