I would add smock or something camo mettc why are you having to bug out could be none permissive environment due to today's issues Poncho mil issue camo for rain or quick shelter could even use with the tent, make a blind or concealment for tent or just more room Ponchos are not heavy and if your going alone maybe summer can ditch the tent for lighter option

I think a DIY 72 hr bag is the way to go on this issue It might take you a little while longer, to get all of the gear together That being said, if you do your research beforehand, you should come out with equipment that'll last you a lifetime

And that was the perfect intro No overly dramatic music, just some very sweet-looking furbabies "Dead tree format" It was four in the morning when I was watching this so it took me a while With the extra socks, I would add a foot care kit, because as you say "if your feet go bad you're done" Blisters and other small wounds can kill just as easily as a large one

The bag seems kind of trash and noobish IFAK is a big deal and they give you trash items The hygiene kit is unnecessary if it’s a get home bag, may be useful in a BoB The wet wipes seems nice, but they dry up pretty quick if you’re storing in your vehicle The hydration kit seems okay, I know it’s noisy (can be remedied) button prefer my bottle to be multipurpose so I go with a metal bottle that I sprayed with rubber coating The clothing bag and compartmentalization is nice, I did the same for my bag and my clothing bag just had later items and socks Real paracord and not just stretchy cord is useful The knife seems a little weak The pack is missing a few items in hat I’d consider important enough to carry I’d drop the dense food pack and just get a couple backpacker pantry or mountain house The price point at $400 isn’t hard to beat, it’s hard to beat it if you want to buy the best items I agree with you suggestions to add the additional items, radio, Certo, bic, zip ties, map, fixedblade, pencil, hat, shoes, meds, etc with your suggestions I’d think it’s a complete kit I personally carry some protection items

72 hours isn't long enough Set the bag up for life if possible You need small water purifier & a cleaning kit for skinning & butchering meat's & a wrist mounted fishing pole Wrist mounted so you never lose it Wedge yourself some place so you're not pulled in by a stronger big fish😂 Lock picking kit Melee weapons that can be used thousands of times like an old school mace Combat knife & more Things that will last you , If used properly Don't put everything in your backpack souly either Get hip pouches & tactical vest for some item's & get cargo pants for the leg pockets Being ready is a matter of knowledge as much as it is materialistic❤

If you're in an urban environment, consider adding a water key I also swapped out the duct tape for gorilla tape I added a sewing awl with waxed string instead of a cheep sewing kit A sail needle works for sewing and removing splinters I have mine taped to the back of my kydex knife sheath with gorilla tape A disposable lighter wrapped with gorilla tape is nice Did you know that gorilla tape works as fire starter?

I am also confined to either a walker or wheelchair so my needs are to be considered I bought one of the canvas folding wagons from the camping section of Walmart It can be opened for use in seconds to load your gear in and if you must go to a local shelter it is an accepted item for a handicapped person Also i keep one of the stainless steel coffee mugs with a lid with change for emergency use Thank you for a well thought video have a great day and keep looking for that better tomorrow

With the ham radio: I'd put in one that can also listen to SW like the Yaesu FT-3D/5D or the VX5/6/etc Yes, they are expensive, but it's worth it You can buy up converters that can take the 5v charge from USB batteries and boostit to 12v It'll use up more energy from the battery, but to me, it's worth it

Someone who's new to prepping will most likely either buy a prefab kit or build one based on a popular tutorial with lots of views Whichever route you choose, it'll take one (fun!) year to adjust a kit to your needs Over time, you'll either find out which items you don't need at all or which ones aren't according to your needs and what's missing completely and should be added Once you've lived through this process, you'll only have to maintain your kit (eg are batteries still fresh?) and adjust for the change of season (add stuff to stay warm, etc) Don't fill your kit to the brim in the beginning and leave some space for useful stuff you might find along the way (or in case you wanna pack extra water, etc)
