When you put the cup into hydroponic bucket, should the nutrient water touch the base of the rockwool? Or need to ensure the root is submerged in the water?

put an empty one in and you can look directly in it to see if it is up a 1/4 inch into the cup

If you keep the rockwool totally saturated it will start stinking and can drown the little starter roots in a top drip dwc, it's better to water them every few days until roots are starting out the bottom of the cube before moving them into the dwc, use lots of aeration and don't forget some hydroguard to introduce the good bacteria into your dwc bucket right away, i didn't do these things and ended up with a bunch of slimy tan roots and a smell that didn't really stink but shouldn't be there, luckily the plant made full recovery and became a beast😄check your ph daily on larger plants, sometimes they are hungry and absorb the nutrients and acids"as they should"raising ph, other times they aren't as hungry and can actually move acids back into the water dropping the ph,also distilled water can become more acidic due to co2 being absorbed and becoming carbonic acid ,i found if that's the case and the ph will not stay put for 3 days just add more distilled water until the ph goes back to 60 and the extra water is a good buffer, and Cal mag is a must with distilled or RO water as both are totally dead water, needing minerals just as much as fertilizer, I don't like the rockwool saturated, the roots are what need water and oxygen, it's best to use micropore airstones that produce nano bubbles they will keep the rockwool damp but not saturated

Your greens looked really leggy - I'm curious if they made it! :) I have had this problem at first - not strong enough grow light or sunlight I had to keep burying them up to their neck But it worked - eventually with tomatoes

Great video, thank you To clarify, is the rockwool actually in the water when the grow basket is placed into the bucket, and by how much (ie: halfway up, quarter, just touching, not touching, etc)? You mentioned how far up the water is going up the grow basket, but I'm not sure how far up the rockwool it should go, based on not knowing how far down you put it into the grow basket
