What do you recommend about replacing the tensioners and pulleys? Should that be done when changing the belt or is that not needed Seen conflicting ideas on this Comment from : SaltySatan |
Thank you for the video I just change my belt on my 2015 Civic and this video helped a lot Even was able to get the tension bar on loan from Autozone I took the front passenger wheel off, to access the belt and pulleys from the bottom as well Made it much easier Thank you again, had I not seen this video, I would of been out an extra $110 to the mechanic There was the access panel in the way, couldn't get it off, so I just pulled it back far enough to get my hand in I was afraid of breaking it off 30 minute job Thank you Comment from : Jason Grigsby |
Are the belt tensioner & the idler pulley the same thing or different? Comment from : Nestor Música y Viaje |
There are brake lines right in the way when using the pipe for leverage on the tensioner Be careful not to nick them like I did For a slight nick or scratch in the paint, just one quick squirt of paint will do There is no way to get a camera down there to show all the pulleys, so that's why John P didn't do it That tensioner bolt is 19mm, or 3/4 inch; same size Great video! It helped me out a lot Comment from : TheClearSounds |

Great video Except couldn’t see all the steps some of which could have been VERY useful Comment from : Paul Gummo |
Just barrow the tool from the auto parts store or buy one If you don't want to do that use the two wrench trick and yes it's always a good idea to remove the passenger side wheel to make installation way easier do not think for any moment that you can do it without taking the wheel off yes you can take it off no problem but you will never get it back on Comment from : TheOutwiththeold |
awesome thank you Comment from : James Quintero |
Does it tighten itself when you release the tension Comment from : Jose Angel |
