First of all, I myself am no 'mathematician'which means even looking at this so called 'clear' (and, undoubtedly, interesting) explanationis something I find to be just totally and completely confusing?! As a matter of fact, I honestly must confess that Maths has always been my very worst subject both in school/as well as, in college; I never got up to university levelwhich was mainly due to my inability to pass the basic 'maths/english' exams (I got up to Level II ability in both maths/english); nevertheless, I have to admit that the number: '163', does mean an awful lot to menamely, I was born in the year: 1963/and, too, there is, uniquely, just 'one' of me ;-)

"Amateur" is not the right word here We need to have a word to distinguish people like Ramanujan and Fermat from people like my sister (who is a computer scientist who dabbles in pure Mathematics for fun) Something that implies "natural mathematician" or "intuitive mathematician" If Mathematics had as much "celebrity-professors" as Physics the term would have already been coined
