Much more important in really rainy Weather ist the construction of a Tent Have a look at the Hilleberg red or black series and you‘ll see tents made for the worst conditions you can imagine! If you have tents with 20cm (8inches) from the rim of the fly to the floor, it’s not necessary to worry about the hydrostatic head of your tent The problem begins much earlier Thanks for reading

First thing I always look for when choosing a spot for my tent is widow makers They can and have ended some backpackers/campers lives so always be mindful of whats overhead before going to bed, it just may leave you dead 😉

Nice video, but you really didn’t address the water resistant vs waterproof concern I have the BA Copper Spur UL2 and wondering if I should Nikwax the tarp before taking it out on its maiden voyage Yes, it’s brand new and has been sitting in my closet I always assumed this tent could handle the rain Is this true? Suggestions anyone?

Long ago, when I was in the boy Scouts, we camped in the woods of the Pacific north west We had canvas tents If we didn't rub against it it kept the water out Yes, it did rain and there were no leaksbrI would judge those to have been water resistant

Another very smart idea is to have brheavy tarpaulin to cover your tent big enough to make sure you have ventilation as well
