what do the 8 pin eps cable connect to? Comment from : jesus |
Any board that has a 4 pin (ALmost all), its compatible with So, yes, almost deffinatly Though this PSU is probably way overkill for a system with only a athlon x3 Comment from : Jay Elles |
My psu is sadly one of the bad ones :( and it goes crazy after about 5-10 mins of gaming or heavy 3d programs I'm getting it RMA'd cause it is truly an awesome power supply, and the cable design is great A potty there is a problem with the fan Comment from : Scott Schreurs |
is this compatible with the amd athlon 2 x3
Comment from : Shen Tan |
I'm not sure if there is coil whine or not because this thing is on my desk and under load it sounds like a hurricane, however on idle it is very quiet Comment from : dinosaurosaurus |
Yeah you're right in saying that it goes from like 20-100 fan speed with nothing in between, but I've never found it too loud Mine is very recent though (had it just over a month) so it may well be a better one than some others It has absolutely 0 coil whine which is something I've noticed on Coolermaster and Corsair PSUs Comment from : wyzarme |
you must have fixed version cos there's no middle ground, like on friggin minecraft it goes to 100 straight away Thing is, it's too loud, even as loud as fans can be, it's too much it's like a vacuum cleaner Comment from : LT589 |
While it certainly does get louder at load, it is hardly the loudest thing ever, if you aren't super worried about silence, it won't be an issue
Personally I really like the PSU because of the quality and features it provides for the price point
So it all depends how much you value silence, because it is cheaper than say an XFX or Corsair PSU with the same features Comment from : wyzarme |
I have heard stories about this PSU having fan issues with them running at high speed making lots of noise, I really love the look of this PSU but some of these stories are almost putting me off Any advice? Comment from : Crispy |
I have this thing powering my 6950 crossfire It is super smooth voltage wise, and is silent at idle and still relatively quiet at load It is also really really solid construction, it weighs a bloody tonne, great PSU Comment from : wyzarme |
650 is more than enough Comment from : Adrian Dole |

Comment from : MrDhale2 |
750w has more power? lol Comment from : MuchoLemons |
That's enough Comment from : Adam Henry |
Yes it is enough Just a tip though you might as well buy a 6870 since they perform almost (and I mean almost by a couple of fps in game) the same Plus the 6870 is much cheaper that the new 7800 series Comment from : Noah Vieira |
