man did 100 push-ups every day for a year (36,500 push-ups in total) and gained nothing in terms of muscle mass brthat's what happens when you don't give your body enough time to heal and recoverbrhe wasted all that effort and discipline and hard work and gained nothing from it because he's stupidbrhow do you forget that your muscles need time to heal in order to get bigger? it's the first thing you're taught when you start working out Comment from : t3sp7o |

I've been exercising for decades and to all who watched this video, and thanks to James, just learned the two most important Rules to Building Muscle Rule 1 Consistency Rule 2 NEVER forget Rule 1 Pushups, are a great exercise It hits Chest, Shoulders, (most emphasis is put on the front Deltoids), Triceps and if you squeeze your Lats on the way up (the muscle on each side of the back) you will improve the back muscles as well James also did something VERY IMPORTANT He used dumbbells (you can use a Straight Bar or an EZ Curl Bar for the Biceps) and superset Pushups & Curls Unfortunately, Pushups don't hit the Biceps However, Pushups and Curls, are a POWERFUL COMBINATION I guarantee, if anyone out here hits Pushups, with Curls, right at home, (no gym needed), you will most certainly build an amazing, muscular physique Keep in mind, if you do the Pushups and Curls and intend on slowly increasing repetitions with the Pushups and Curls, you can, and should do one day on and one day off (rest) YES With all the programs, supplements, Youtube Fitness instructors, in the end, it's not about "How Much" you do, or "How Long" in the gym It's about the two rules above To repeat, brRule 1 Consistency Rule 2 NEVER forget Rule 1 Go James, GOOOOOO )))))) Comment from : M M |

Hmm, It's interesting that you say that you've felt the difference in strength I wish you did a test before and after to kind of see how the strength has improved, as visually, apart from having some more visible veins on your arms, the 100 push-ups haven't seemed to change your appearance much at all It would be cool to compare both visuals and strength with someone who does, for example, 100 sit-ups a day for a year, or 100 pull-ups a day for a year (I doubt anyone could do the 100 pull-ups a day lol) Comment from : Akyaren |

Muscle building is progress overload over time, so rather than focusing on numbers focus on making it harder slower reps adding resistance! Non the less to stick to this for an entire year teaches you consistency which is 99 of all success in any area of your life Comment from : Buntrock Studios |

I’m doing 25 push-ups most days, and 15 pull-ups I’m already seeing results after a few months I know that if I do more, I won’t want to do it, so I’m happy doing just this much It takes no time, so I can do it any time I think of it I’m not looking for big muscles, just being toned, so I’d be more than happy with your results Comment from : Hugo Marquez |
If you want to gain muscle you need to eat a lot more food You could gain so much more muscle doing push ups if you eat more calories Comment from : Casey McAdams |

I'll never get it I don't understand what people think they're going to get out of this because if you could do 100 on day 1, why not do 101 on day 2, week 2, something? Also why every single day? You barely have time to grow, heal, recover and why just pushups? Why not figure out how to get more of a full body workout, do that 3/4 times a week for a year and you'd actually see meaningful change for all the effort you're putting in Comment from : JC B |
Great video I appreciate the analytical approach in measuring your progress brbr100 pushups is a lot! I keep it at 60 for the moment, but I totally agree with your statement that it gets easier to hit the higher numbers as you get used to the daily exercise brbrPersonally, I prefer to take my time building it up gradually and adding some other exercises brbrYour discipline is very impressive Not everyone has the mindset to do thisbrbr* Excuse my crappy English as it's not my first language Comment from : SalmonFume |
I am beginner now I started doing 28 push up Comment from : Pridish Raj |
I just started back working out this year and it’s going great I plan to continue this forever now and once I get built back up a bit I’m gonna join a gym and start back working out my full body This was very inspiring for me since I’m only about a month in thinks Comment from : Hunter Vandiford |
bro, no disrespect but you got that telephone hair Comment from : BlockyDoesStuff |
This ain't good on your body, no days what so ever for rest / recover hinders muscle growth, imagine the result you would've gotten if you did 100 pushups every 3 days, and let your body actually recover properly between the workouts, and no, energy isn't the right way to determine if you're ready for another workout, most expert is saying 48-72 hrs between workouts regardless if you feel tired or energized, anyway, good effort homie Comment from : Richard |
Very good Comment from : Anderson DL |
7:00 No to both, your form was awful, 100 incorrect reps is meaningless compared to 25 perfect repsbrbrNot to mention the fact you're eating like dogshit, stop with the soy, peanut butter and carbs, eat meat and eggs Comment from : Appo |
Right on Dude! Great job and thanks for the video I am on my own journey, and I am on my 3rd day of 100 a day Looking forward to the rest of life #yougotit Comment from : Joseph Dote |
Do you still practice pushups??? Comment from : Leo Awgowhat |
Well done on the push ups but you could of picked a better exercise and done less to see more change in your body Do deadlifts 3 or 4 days a week increasing weight and adjusting sets over time will shock your body more into adapting and growing 100 push ups at the same weight becomes stalemate after a while especially without variation in the exercise Comment from : Andrew Radley |
I'm 57 and have been doing 50-60 pushups before a 3 mile walk and another 50-60 after the walk at least five out of seven days a week and my chest shoulders and triceps are very firm and my chest grown a couple inches, plus it feels great Comment from : randy owens |

I did 1 more push up every day starting from January first last year, meaning on December 31st was doing 365 I don’t really know what to do this year but I’m thinking about trying another workout along with maybe 100-200 push ups a day Another problem is that I didn’t really have much access to doing any other more intense workouts besides playing sports What should I do?
