Great strategy but only if small retail investors can develop that level of patience which is the key Usually, someone with a 25k account balance, when they see a quick spike up on their call premiums, they tend to sell by cutting their bigger long term gains with an argument of buying a put when that same spike will drop or catch it again at low (turning their initial long term trading strategy into day/swing trading) They might get lucky once or twice timing the market but will always be in negative in the longer run If they can only stick to their original plan, they'll be amazed how much profit they can bulk by simply not doing anything I teach folks and trade large portfolios and sadly I see over 90 of the population making this exact same mistake every single time

How soon before the LEAPS contract expires do you generally recommend selling/closing out your position? brbrMany of mine are up pretty big already after 1-2 months, I do plan on holding them a while longer but wondering about how soon before expiration should they for sure be pulled out to lock in profits and potentially roll into further out and higher strike LEAPSbrbr*Keeping in mind theta and time decay start eating away much heavier toward the end of the life cycle on the option contracts

Used to just hold LEAPs on TQQQ made a bunch without basically any research or analysis Just lost all my profits from it in the last week Idk why i stopped my account was up 50 this year and now its only up 3 Im just gonna wait til the next market correction to get back in on it definitely easier than swing trading individual stocks which can be manipulated very easily ARKW is also good for LEAPsbrbri literally have been watching ARKW go straight up since it was at $110 back in november while my account graph looks like its on drugs would have doubled my account already if i just held leaps like i thought i should oh well
