I've experimented with rooting hormones on basil sprigs Thought basil is a good choice because the spigs grow well and fast in any conditions I put six sprigs with in potting mix Three with rooting hormone and three without My results? Absolutely no difference As a matter of fact one of the sprigs with Rooting hormone on it didn't take, but that might just be a fluke Appreciate the video because I got my first lavender plant about 8 months ago Was taking forever to grow so I put it in even a higher sun area Still taking forever From what I learned these are slow growing plants so learning how to propagate them something I was very interested in Much appreciated I've had some old timers tell me that natural honey works better than rooting hormone because it's a natural antibiotic and provides glucose to speed up rooting Going to experiment with that this week Much appreciated Keep up the good work Comment from : Man with a porpoise |

Word of advice for everyone, take multiple cuttings, don't try with 1 or 2 and wait the 3-4 weeks to find out Be more generous, I've never had great luck with cloning mine in the past but I have gotten a few, I wasted a good bit of time only doing 2-3 only for them not to make itbrbrAround mid spring I like to trim mine back a bit as I normally get a second bloom, during this time I'm able to get 10-15 good cuttings, and while I don't have a great record with it brute forcing it is kinda what I have to do and I'm getting a few each year I always feel like I'm doing it wrong, I like to learn more, but yeah my advice would be to take as many cuttings as you reasonably canbrbrThe clones make wonderful gifts for family members Comment from : LastHope |
