Fixed it for me! I initially replaced the fill valve replacement cap, since it was trashed after 11 plus years, and didnt fix the issue Stumbled across your video and flipped the rubber foot on the float and boom, success! Thank you! Comment from : John Anderson |

Man, the pink gasket on mine, has a big old hole in it, and the whole valve sticks on and off all the way until it fills the bowl even though it has a hole in it I cleaned it up put it all back together and it works perfectly fine I went on Amazon and found a new replacement gasket for five bucks It’s on the way, but we’re flushing turds in the meantime Thank the lord 🙏 Comment from : Danny K |
Thanks so much for this video It exactly described my problem I fixed the valve in five minutes Comment from : Jim Cauthen |
Excellent disassembly instruction For my case it was the diaphragm gasket that has a tear so I had to replace the whole assembly which is $12 Comment from : Ted Nguyen |
Flipping the little red rubber disc worked for us too; that indent in the rubber material wasn't allowing the float to stop the water from running hence the water level would rise above the black drain tube and make a dripping sound (and produce larger water bills) Thanks for solving our problem and extending the life of this cheap plastic Korky flush assemblyI'm sure will have to replace it eventually The old metal assemblies lasted longer and you only had to change the flappers Comment from : Steven Basinger |
Thanks you saved me time and money Much appreciated! Comment from : Paul Marchlowitz |

[Edit] Update This trick worked for 6 months for mine I have flipped the pilot seat rubber piece back over, and turned it at another angle, and it is working again now Note: I am considering putting a harder material in there instead of rubber, for a permanent fix They don't sell this part alone Comment from : wbwright79 |
This actually works! The rubber seal think that you flipped over was powdery pink Flipped it over and it works great! Comment from : Jerico Cabaya |
Ed, THANKS for this tip! You just saved me a lot of bother, including how to take apart! Flipping the little gasket is brilliant! Best to you, Lou Comment from : lou spradlin |

So far, so good, but what a crappy design! if it starts to run after filling again, I'm replacing it with a Flowmaster or an old float ball if I can find them! Why are we changing what has always worked, for crap that needs constant correction??? Comment from : twitch65 |
Worked for me, curious as to why the water level never went up Comment from : Eddy Locke |
Very helpful Comment from : JaKey |

Great video Better than the Korky video At 1:56 you mention the hole in the diaphragm cap as important for later in the video, but don't mention it again Now I'm curious! Comment from : H Frame |

Great info! While you are in there, you can pull the white filter screen out of the stem and clean it Comment from : solarsynapse |
The flush valve is only about 7 years old and it was a little tough to twist the stem off because of hard water deposits (Phoenix water) so I used vinegar to break up the deposits and it came apart really easy Just a tip for those who might encounter a similar situation Comment from : Michael The American Patriot |

Saved me from calling the plumber Thank you!! Comment from : Rebecca Broussard |
Even though Lowes and The Home Depot sell several versions of the Korky valve, as of May 2021 they don't seem to carry any replacement parts, such as the elastomer disc and the valve diaphragm The only option would be to replace the whole valve assembly or to buy the cheapest version and rob it for parts Comment from : Milosz Ostrow |
