Nah, I'm totally fine 10 duplicates leggings since, I don't wear any other pants In Winter I would wear thermo-leggings and in summer I have short leggingsbrI don't like to wear jeans anymore It doesn't fit my style and it matches my style betterbrI like to wear leggings with skirts and dresses and hoodies Or if I'm not going outside I'll wear it with t-shirts Or just simply wearing pyjamas

Getting rid of uncomfortable shoes is one of the easiest declutter tasks Also, clothes that have a texture that bothers me, like scratchy wool items (even if they are gifts)

Some people love to remind me of the gifts they offered me "Hey, why do you never wear that impractical jacket I gave you 10 years ago?", "Hey, remember that old camera that only does overpixelated pictures I gave you? You still have it, right?" They're not making it easy for me ^^'brUntil they finally forget about these useless horrors, I'll apply your other advice!^^

I like this This is the first video of yours I’ve seen and it’s really reasonable minimalism Not the “you must only own 10 items and wear them until you’re dead” level some people get to I’m not aiming for minimalism but I am definitely going to keep these things in mind next time I’m going through my wardrobe
Comment from : JayBeh Kay

BusArch42
Disagree on wedding dress Mine is simple and takes up little room but my 18 yr daughter has already asked to wear it when she gets married I was very sad that my mom gave her dress to a friend for her second marriage She never even considered her daughters

I cleared out a bunch of (pricy) clothing that I loved, but that was too small for me about 5 years ago I've since lost and kept off 35lbs for over 3 years and wish wish wish I had those things still I still get rid of things that no longer serve me, but not more expensive things - I find that I eventually am happy I have them, even if I haven't worn them for a few years
Comment from : Kimberly F

Oksana Klyuchinskaya
I realised just how delusional one can be when, having decluttered all shoes I cannot really wear, I was left with THREE pairs: home slippers, snickers and winter boots I can survive more or less but this is far too few! People please watch what you have and what you really use and need!
Comment from : Oksana Klyuchinskaya

aisiodoksi
Ok, I pressed like ,but it's not that simple For one: here in Greece, if you're gonna go to a cocktail party, a pre-wedding gathering, to opera, to weddings or be the best man or best woman, to any formal or black tie thing, you have to buy your clothes We don' t have shops that you can rent formal clothing, or jewelry That's a lot to spent, so you can't throw them away just like that Also: I used to work in a lot of jobs (offices mostly), and I had to wear women suits, shirts, blazers, cigarette trousers I was on my own, I liked that kind of outfit, I bought expensive clothes I couldn't throw them away Luckily I have two daughters and they can wear them! In my country we are doing this a lot, lending, borrowing, give as gifts For cheap t-shirts, or sweaters, and of of course underwear, ok, I can and I am doing it Bur for the rest
Comment from : aisiodoksi

Albie
Tbh I don't think the problem is struggling to throw things away but buying too much crap to begin with

No offense but the moment i see any amount of flannel in anyone's wardrobe their opinion is instantly invalid and worthless 💀
Comment from : AKAE DE DEVAL

1:50 You like the trend of wearing bathrobes in public Fun fact: this is actually at least the third time this has happened, historically speaking At least two of the "chemise" fashions in the 1600s-1800s were "man, these dressing gowns are SO comfortable What if there was a dressing gown that we could wear in public?"
Comment from : Katherine C

EchoGnome&Cal
Re projects hanging around-brThere are Many reasons this happens, including things like finances or ADD issues Sometimes we have to customize solutions to what works for us personally For me what works is RULE 1: You can't buy any new projects or (major*) components until the mending is done or several projects are completely FINSHEDbrbr*I shop sales & clearances, so I need to take opportunities when they come to restock or complete a "set" of items to do a project
Comment from : EchoGnome&Cal

Heather Carpenter
Wear bath robes in public? Really? No thank you
Comment from : Heather Carpenter

Mercury
I really struggle with the "clothes you don't like" thing I love to wear casual stuff However, in my office in need to wear business clothes I hate them 😭😅 so every time I open my closet to go to work, I'm frustrated Same goes for office shoes
Comment from : Mercury

Bettina
I should finally clean out my two 30-year-old skirts, through which you can slowly read the newspaper But I've wanted to sew two replacement skirts for autumn and winter for a long time I think I need to cross this off my to do list😂

A clothing advice channel hosted by someone wearing a scruffy old tshirt Not a great start, so let's listen a bit more
Comment from : Oyster Rose

Ame A
I like this idea in principal but ugh it also feels really performative I mean in reality many people gain or lose say on average a stone in weight here or there so they might need wildly different clothes (and don't get me started on bras!) to accommodate that over the years So long story short I don't think this lifestyle is for me
Comment from : Ame A

Aleksandra G-ska
Interestingly, I disagree with all of those 🤔
Comment from : Aleksandra G-ska

Jen Malyon
So what about just eating less and fitting back into the clothes one most love instead of throwing them out and wearing ugly big arsed styles?
Comment from : Jen Malyon

Christine Murphy
Thanks for the help and suggestions This video really simplified for me what seems right now to be a complicated issue in my bedroom I appreciate it and will be watching you more ❤🎉😊

I had a friend and her habits were - every six month she will change the whole wardrobe She will buy two bras, seven bikini, and seven pairs of clothing After six month she will throw them and will buy new ones
Comment from : Mimisays_PianoDreams

youthful64
One of my daughters as a teen started turning her hanged clothes backwards every season in her closet If something was worn it would be hung up frontwards and by the seasons end she knew what she could get rid of Now as an adult with her own family she continues to do this
Comment from : youthful64

Nobody Cares
Your videos are structured in a great way!brYou really got me with the mending projects, I probably won't do it, and that's okaybrFor the gift part I would say that you don't necessarily have to accept and say thank you Especially if people are close to you, they can return it and you know right away that this won't be for you, you can tell so :)
Comment from : Nobody Cares

TG
People do get their sizes down
Comment from : TG

Panna
I mostly agree with the points but I would never ever throw out my wedding dress just to spare a little space

Sheri Phaff Art - PaintBrushed
I am have too many jackets and tshirts I just went through them all because I am moving and still have a half closet full of various types of jackets/hoodies/cardigans/dusters I wear them all!! One full drawer of casual tshirts, and some dressier tshirts hanging in my closet I could probably downsize the tshirts quite a bit more Sigh
Comment from : Sheri Phaff Art - PaintBrushed

P Bear
Why would anyone wear shoes that hurt?
Comment from : P Bear

Ulrike Sextro
Hi, i love this video but I disagree here Many companies now expect from their employees to return back to the office a couple days a week which means the end for work from home

erin likes a cornish pasty
I have a lot of hand-me-downs I struggle to get rid of They were never things I picked out, but I feel like they're still serviceable, so why get rid of them? I don't think getting rid of stuff just because it "isn't my style" is really that good of a reason One of my three words is "practical", so clearly if something clothes me, it's "my style" 🤦‍♀️ The only thing I've narrowed down is I don't want anything with 3/4 length sleeves anymore I need long sleeves or short And I probably have too many thermals and not enough regular shirts 🤔

Ashley McGee
I think this is particularly useful to folks like me, who habitually own more clothes than they wear due to always taking in hand-me-downs, buying my own stuff, and being attracted to fast fashion like H&M I recently decluttered my closet and found clothes from over two years ago that still had tags on them I decluttered a lot of hand me downs because I discovered that working from home, I wear maybe a quarter of what I own So I downsized everything and am trying to focus on investing in my clothing Instead of spending money on stuff that will fall apart in a few months, I am putting forth the expense for clothes made closer to home that might cost more, but are better made and appeal to my stylebrbrMy approach to decluttering clothes is asking, “Do I like it? Do I wear it? Does it fit?” Chances are I don’t wear something because I don’t like it Chances are I don’t like it because it doesn’t fit, or I don’t like the fit If it doesn’t fit, I am not ever going to wear it Even answering just one of those leads to answering the other two, and I usually get rid of the piece based on that criteria brbrThis isn’t going to work for everyone, obviously Try not to feel attacked by what she’s saying
Comment from : Ashley McGee

J Pinkman
You’re amazing I’m on my minimalist journey and I’m so happy I wear 100 of my wardrobe, but I needed your advices about letting go the gifts I don’t like ❤ a hug from Italy 🇮🇹

Federica Rodolfi
To be honest I've always been struggling with throwing away perfectly good clothing items that *didnt' make me feel good* But instead of manically decluttering I found more effective to simply stop buying things I didn't 100 love or need, and gradually get rid of all the items that now feel useless, because I have much better options brbrJust throwing this out there cause maybe some of you reading have encountered this same problem ;)
Comment from : Federica Rodolfi

LaBeatrice
While I like stuff and am fine being a bit of a clutterer, I do like these videos a lot and find that many tips are quite useful for me, even if I have no intention of becoming a minimalist Making room for things I feel are actually important by getting rid of "guilt items", taking good care of my feet, getting rid of clothes that don't fit in order not to live in the past (not that into the robe in public thing, though 😂) I find all this really helpful to improve my life, and some of these tips are perfectly doable without a major lifestyle change which suits me, so thanks for the videos, they are great!

I like your channel but 1/wearing bathrobes at home is an awful idea You can be leisurely or functional without looking like you just got out of bed 2/ I would declutter that Punk Floyd T shirt It's not flattering Bad color
Comment from : Juliet Tailor

Julia Naylor
Having feet swollen from an inherited condition, I only buy shoes that fitbrI have a huge wardrobe and I wear it, layering up and down according to the weather Everything gets worn at least three timesbrI always get rid of trashed stuff and I only buy to mix and matchbrI don't believe in the if you haven't worn it in two years, dump it, because I wear clothes I've had for years or brought and worn over two years later brI don't buy fast fashion, I buy quality clothes and I have been the same size for years My wardrobe is full of fancy and beautiful clothes I never buy something I have no intention of wearing So I'm not into wasting money on crap cheap clothes and dumping without wearing I won't be throwing out a dress that I paid £35, for just because it was too cold last summer to wear it I believe decluttering wardrobes is for people who buy poor quality clothesbrI have for example a jersey I brought when I was 18 in 1979, which looks like a modern designer one, and I worn it several years backit still fits Basically I have a list of clothes I want to buy and am building a for life huge capsule wardrobemix and matchable, layerable and totally interchangeablenot your average brought on a whimso to me decluttering it, means only disposing of things that are beyond repair or use, which I have done in the past I once gave up a dress I out grew in my twenties and am looking for a skirt that will have a similar style to it it's on my list That's my wardrobe styleI don't do trends so I sometimes find one old piece here and there, comes back into fashion
