For those like me, you can be an anxious attachment style without having an unloving parent It just needs to be those around you controlling parts of your world as you form brbrTW: SAbrbrbrbrbr I grew up with a parent who was the black sheep of the family Her need to gain approval from my grandmother helped to shape me She also was chronically ill and left an abusive man, not by choice, but because child me went to the police to protect my baby brother from CSA that I was facing My mother never let me want for love and attention However, I strived to achieve that same approval from my grandmother and aunts that she was seeking And growing up in a high demand religion with a sub cult we were in meant I was also seeking approval from my religious leaders, despite having a hard time conforming to the sub cult and it's ideas It wasn't my primary caregiver who formed me, it was the abusers who defined her and trapped her that also defined me

I’m in a narcissistic relationship I’m constantly put down (which he says are jokes and apart of his culture to pick on someone they love), I’m put down about my weight, and his needs/wants are the only thing that matters Im very attached to him I also have bpd which makes me incorporate him into my identity I’m working on this with my therapist Breaking up isn’t an option for me right now, as I believe it will make me too unstable So right now I’m just taking it day by day
