I am sorry to say this but I think it is very stupid to replicate that roof 1:1 It didnt burn down for no reason They should preserve the looks but engineer it safer under the hood Redoing everything like it was is one of the the most unconsiderate and narrow-minded things I have ever seen

I love that they are re-building the cathedral the same way it was built it 800 years ago Thats really special and I’m sure people will appreciate it for hundreds of years to comebrbrI’m also glad so much of that building survived Fire has taken out sooooo many buildings over the centuries The fact that this happened with modern fire fighting technology is a stroke of luck It also is a great sign for all other cultural landmarks to instal fire suppressing systems This is a win at the end of the day IMO

Total waste of money and a misguided use of resources This is not a cathedral of any special note or purpose It just happens to sit on tourist central line 1 What does any truly spiritual person care if it is in slightly better or slightly worse shape? The lost spire was only added in the 19thC Whoopee The hundreds of millions of euros would be better spent on social projects in the community it serves Still, the irony of a family that owns the most vulgar brands of fashion dropping 200Meueo on this "cultural treasure" is not lost on me Superficiality rules

I don't think they should be bSO/b obsessive about reproducing "every blemish" Every prior time it was refurbished the people rebuilding it put their own touches on it There should be some leeway for creativity Certainly, the construction process should follow the original method (wooden pegs held up way longer than steel nails would have, etc)
