I’m a Professional “Pusher” not a professional Athlete brI do it merely for my health 1’ Mental first 2 Physical just immediately benefitsbrI run uphill 4 miles once a week at least cuz I only have uphill at home! But I MUST, it keeps me calm keeps my body and mind clean of stress I do smoke a pipe but I don’t let it stop me I make my body handle what it needs I just know I’m a better person if I run I need to help my body e mind detox, the benefits are the motivation I need I highly encourage you to not give up ever specially if you’re just beginning Your body can and is happy to do it, it’s the mental inertia that slugs you yet that is your motivation to discover the inertia is illusion we put it there and we can choose to undo it, your whole mentality willl benefit, enjoy the joy and peace that come with running because you want and can Comment from : Ziana Wind |

My favorite quote when things get hard while running is:brbr*Mental toughness is finding fuel in an empty tank *brbrTelling that to myself makes me think about why I run and how miserable I felt in times of injury Always makes me feel so grateful for being able to run and works even after 30k😂 Comment from : Pia |
Just what I needed, the problem is,the Time I start the race the time my heart beat go too fast Comment from : AspectNN13 |

Little tip tho: if your a very beginner do not start out too hard Do run walk intervals to get your body adjusted to running I made this mistake when I joined cross country I was very new and from the start they had me running 3 miles every day (except Sunday) Yes, I got incredible endurance from it But I also got terrible shin splints that I ran through, that eventually turned into a bruised tibia What I’m saying is, just be careful when starting out! Comment from : KAY -LEE |

Just read "can't hurt me" by David Goggins and you'll never want to take another easy run Comment from : Ster Shoe |

I'm not new to running and still have a lot of trouble keeping mentally strong during a race My best races (hands down) are when I give it 100 and my mind lets me give it 100 Feels so good mates, legit runner's highs are found from there :) Comment from : Coastal Beaches |
Whenever I am running a race, I get a nagging voice in my head saying things like "slow down a bit", "everything hurts, you can slow down" I had my best race in my season when I consciously said "no I am going now" Legit broke my PR by 1:30 that race :) Comment from : Coastal Beaches |
kinda wish I lived in the mountains to do some extreme endurance training sense the air up there is so thin Comment from : Ninetails6o |
I I don’t like going outside to run because well Um, I’m insecure so I don’t like it when I run pass houses with people looking at me if I’m running by myself Comment from : Ninetails6o |

Just tell your self, “ what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” 👍 Comment from : Ninetails6o |

I’ve used running to improve my mental health and I still do when I have bad days, I’ve found going for runs in the morning will put me in a more awake, productive and talkative state instead of being groggy and depressed the whole day it’s amazing what running can do Comment from : woogitysnek |
Motivation is BS Once you think “should I”It’s over Comment from : Newbeginnings |
My trick is whenever ur thinking about quitting say in ur head don't think, strawberries, don't think strawberries, sounds stupid but makes ur mind unatach from ur body, helps me alot in running and also helped me in the army, just keep saying don't think, strawberries till the though goes away, sync it with your breathing coordination Comment from : Joao Carlos |
My running consists of negotiating with the voice in my head how long I can run before I fail 😂 Comment from : Madeline |

I have given up for now i put on 9 pounds on an intake of just 1250 calories im fastidious with my diet and exercise and ive never hated my body more in my life I need to lose weight as its affected my spine and hips and the week I upped my exercise i gained weight I now do none as I find it so demoralising I might get 30 minutes walk Id a body close that was almost ripped now its flabby and my bones are damaged I was too frail but this wasn't a good Maybe it was from stress and I retained water but it was devastating to see that pound after a week of counting Comment from : Sonicz Forever |

Completed my first 5k under 40 yesterday (it's slow, but still an achievement for me) And I was thinking, if I want to be able to do a half-marathon, my mind has to be tougher And I think that being aware of that is a great first step As I was jogging, after 1 minute, my brain would already tell me to stop, it's boring to just jog But I had to get over that I started to ask myself questions like "can I still breath? Yes So continue How does your legs feel? Fine? Continue" But it's really the boredom of just jogging that I have to fight I have my music, but I realized that I'm not listening to it at all even though I have it in my ears Comment from : My Banned Lifestyle |

My #1 reason to start running? I fall into this risk catagory when Carona would catch me my life could turn really bad I want to do all which is in my controle to prevent me from being this fatal victim The outbreak of this pandemic made me realize how vulnerable we actually can be I vulnerable I can be when a potential lethal virus is on the loosebr Better be prepared to be balanced in body and mind I don't care about distances, I care about living a healthy life in a strong body and tranquil mind Comment from : Moira7765 |

I did my 2nd 10k slower pace but obviously wasn't in the shape I was back in highschool (8 years ago) but I was just 20mins over my first 10k of 59mins But now I know I have to build my base and slowly build that endurance to beat my old time Comment from : Victor Guillen |

I learnt that the best motivation is when I do it for myself, to be fitter faster to beat my personal best, to fill my medal hanger etc Yeah it seems very lonesome, but I used to have all these big "Why"s to be healthy for kids, loved ones, or to look good physically to find a partner etc I found none of that ever last until I finally put myself in the center of the equation I am my biggest motivator Comment from : Nino Adan |

I run D1 in college as a mid distance runner and I often find myself halfway through an XL run that’s fast or a really hard workout wanting to give up I found that continually asking myself why can’t I just take 1 more step helps Instead of focusing on the fact that I have 40 more mins of running I focus on getting through the next 30 seconds, the next landmark, the next meter mark If you don’t break it down it gets overwhelming Even the best runners face a mental battle But that’s all it is guys, a mental battle Comment from : Zomiecrafter |
Bro looks like skinny Louis CK Comment from : James Fleming |

What I do is say to myself I am going to run to a certain spot, so that is the goal I don't stop until I get there except for traffic :)brit gets very hard mentally, one foot in from of the other, not that hard really, keep moving Remember that your mind gives up long before the body does Comment from : Kevin Decoteau |

Lots of love for Goggins (good!) but I haven't seen his 2 key phrases: "embrace the suck," and "motivation is BS" brbrHe doesn't like motivation because it's too situational If it's cold, if you feel tired, you won't be motivated So do it anyway Show up Find a higher purpose And if it sucks, bembrace the suck/b ;-)brEdit: fixed Goggins autocorrect Comment from : SomeAssemblyRequired |

Americans are very much heard-peoplebrI train a lot better, more focused and more effectively, when training without other people aroundbrThey tend to talk, talk, talk - especially if from USA - and lack the abillity to start focused from the first secondbrI dont wanna hear about your coffeeshop visit or a dog you met or other unrelated stuffbrStart training !!!brAfter training, start to prepare to get the best possible effect from the next training Comment from : Ib Erik Söderblom |
I’m that guy who’s only at 500 meter will feel that lungs needed to take a break, legs burning and mind stoping me, does that mean that I’m not physically and mentally ready to run miles and miles? I’m only 15 years old, does age means something? Comment from : Carlo Gonzales |

Yeah When I was running a miler recently, I was pleased with myself that I managed to run all of it, up all the hills, even though running the hills makes me slow down That in mind Those who hadn't ran up the hills started to over take me and I felt drained of energy, compared to those who were now overtaking and building up speed as they approached the final 2 miles I was getting slower I only managed the sprint finish If only I could maintain good speed throughout even after hills Comment from : Pam |

As I was watching, I said to myself that Coach Nate should talk about Dr Tim Noakes' Central Governor Theory, and he did! It is still a theory, but it seems more reasonable and intuitive than the prior idea that skeletal muscle regulates itself During my first serious BQ attempt, which was successful, I had a hard time holding my head up the last few miles, my eyes were barely open, and everything hurt, but I kept saying to myself that I didn't run (count them down) miles to not qualify After the finish I noticed that I was only seeing in black and white- my color vision returned later in the day That told me I pushed hard, and I have never pushed as hard in a race since Comment from : takatsu5 |
Great vid!!! I've been having so many issues with my calves when I run On Sunday I just told myself that I'm going to run a 5K with NO issues and that's exactly what I ended up doing The moment I started feeling little tweaks in my calf my brain immediately went into panic mode but I just took a deep breath and was able to finish Not the BEST time but I was happy I was able to finish that distance Comment from : Oscar Parada |
