How did u make it stick to the gpu?brbrI want to do the same with a copper cooler and a fan, but i dont know how to make it stick to the gpu

Frosty thermal pad 128 on Amazon is identical to thermalright but 40 off Seems pointless to pay extra Also a fan also helps like the other guy said But having some air flowing is the best

Try to stick a heatsink on pcb without backplate, should get a better contact and more heat would be taken away

I saw a video the other day about the RTX 3090's having this problem and at times they would run at 105 degrees and over under heavy load (not even overclocked) due to the rear memory modules not having proper cooling and I was totally thinking this could be a good solution for a pretty reasonable price, glad it worked out for you!

How hard is it to remove the heat sink after you have attached it using the double sided thermal tape? I'm asking because I plan to do a similar mod to my card but unlike your setup I won't be able to access the pcie retention lock to unlock the card when I need to remove the card from the pcie slot If the tape isn't that hard to remove by simply prying up on the heat sink to remove it while the gpu is still installed that will work but if its literally glued to the gpu back plate my card will be stuck in the pcie slot which I want to avoid I hope I explained that in a way that makes sense

Any concerns for longevity running the card fan at 100? Would it be better to bring down the voltage a little to generate less heat but ease off on the GPU fan a little?

I ordered the black smaller heatsinks off amazon One thing different that I did compared to you was that I also replaced all the thermal pads with Thermal Grizzly Minus 8 pads I went from 96C down to 86C, Happy with the results This is on a Strix 3090
