That’s impressive But was it thermal throttling before that’s my question Comment from : Jlo |

Lol I haven’t finished the video yet as of typing this, but I’m saying there is no way that those fins will do anything at all against Satans fury inside the pcb Comment from : New Finish Auto Spa |

Frosty thermal pad 128 on Amazon is identical to thermalright but 40 off Seems pointless to pay extra Also a fan also helps like the other guy said But having some air flowing is the best Comment from : Mark W |

thermal double sided adhesive tape It sticks and doesn't come off impossible to remove Do you know how to remove it? Comment from : MAÇ ÖZETLERİ |
|
Try to stick a heatsink on pcb without backplate, should get a better contact and more heat would be taken away Comment from : Британский Охотник |
|
Put a NOCTUA fan on the heatsink will reduce your temp even more Comment from : Loi Ten |
|
you realize you need to put fan on those fins to actually make it work, do you? Comment from : Zfast4y0u |

Can't wait until there is fans on the back and the front Comment from : Chief boy arr-dee |

I saw a video the other day about the RTX 3090's having this problem and at times they would run at 105 degrees and over under heavy load (not even overclocked) due to the rear memory modules not having proper cooling and I was totally thinking this could be a good solution for a pretty reasonable price, glad it worked out for you! Comment from : Ahriella Mcguire |
|
only recently saw tech tubers talking about how hot these gpus rundidnt realize just how much power they also consumed Comment from : Ponen Longchar |
|
thats good, needs a pc fan Water backblock might do better Comment from : Goldenhordemilo |

I miss you lol Comment from : Aaron G-S |

Can I put these heat sinks on my RTX TUF 3080 if it is slotted into my motherboard directly? Or is there another heat sink that is smaller that you would recommend? I am thinking I need to try one that is lower profile Thanks for your amazing video Thumbs up Comment from : PersianImm0rtal |

How hard is it to remove the heat sink after you have attached it using the double sided thermal tape? I'm asking because I plan to do a similar mod to my card but unlike your setup I won't be able to access the pcie retention lock to unlock the card when I need to remove the card from the pcie slot If the tape isn't that hard to remove by simply prying up on the heat sink to remove it while the gpu is still installed that will work but if its literally glued to the gpu back plate my card will be stuck in the pcie slot which I want to avoid I hope I explained that in a way that makes sense Comment from : Shawn Lopez |
|
Great video Steve - easy mod to do - effective and no loss of warranty! (LOL you have a very understanding wife!) I'm about to do the same sort of thing with my 3090 (the heatsinks, not the kitchen table! :-D Subscribed! Comment from : HJ-RedRaven Heng |

Got a question, if you put a series of smaller heatsinks, around the Die, exposing them, would that reduce more heat? Comment from : Avanti Gio |

Any concerns for longevity running the card fan at 100? Would it be better to bring down the voltage a little to generate less heat but ease off on the GPU fan a little? Comment from : C C |
|
I ordered the black smaller heatsinks off amazon One thing different that I did compared to you was that I also replaced all the thermal pads with Thermal Grizzly Minus 8 pads I went from 96C down to 86C, Happy with the results This is on a Strix 3090 Comment from : 40rty |
