I don't know if i get all the details but it sounds to me that dopamine and the seek of it is what basically drives humans (and apparently other mammals) in their behaviours So common knowledge about it should be way higher than what it is now in the society! Thank you for all those enlightments Regards from France !

it helps explain why new rule sets could not be made once already in the 'rage' or 'disconnection' state - had to identify the trigger wayyyyy sooner so I could still 'pause' - and why sometimes the trigger seemed so insignificant compared to the 'rage' or 'depression' or spirling mood

@dennissilber287
In his opening comments Dr Huberman claims epinephrine is the basis of all neural energy He may have been speaking metaphorically, I don’t know But taken at face value his claim is incorrect In human biology as in most of the members of the animal kingdom adenosine triphosphate, or ATP, is the primary source of energy as it is for all the cells and organs Nerves are made up of a cell body with dendritic extensions that communicates with nearby nerve cells centrally, a long projection called an axon that connects the nerve cell in the central nervous system with its target a great distance away, and the axon terminal that contacts the target site like a muscle cell The signal from the cell to the target is essentially electrical based on ion concentrations inside and outside the axon and maintaining the resting voltage and restoring it after a signal is generated depends on chemical reactions peered by ATPbrbrEpinephrine is a sympathomimetic hormone not a neurotransmitter that increases the heart rate and blood pressure Dopamine, norepinephrine, acetylcholine, serotonin, and other such chemicals are neurotransmitters that are used by nerve cells to signal each other
