I have been trying to learn running for a month now My legs are the weakest link I could do about 2 x 33 meters of running and start Thats 33 meters consecutive and few minutes of walking to rest and start running again Now I can do about 16 x 33 meters running That's running 66-100 meters consecutively and few minutes of walking to rest Shin splints are the biggest problem I'm trying to pace the learning so my legs have time to heal up I do 3 exercises a week I have no idea how long it takes that I can run for 1K or 3K without walking but I'm optimistic my physique will adapt and I could call myself a runner some day! Glad to see that you put out the video Our bodies are incredible I think it's important to listen to them I used to go full force and push through pain that I should have listened to and ended up injured and out of commission I recently started running again in July doing the Couch to 5k program It's gone on longer than the 9 weeks but I've taken some days/weeks off due to pain and also being sick Taking that time has allowed me to stick with it really become attuned to my body Comment from : Self Care With Ashley |

Good on you for deciding to improve your health in this way I got into the habit at the start of this year going to the gym and running a mile on the treadmill twice a week As a 30-y-o who ran competitively in high school and stays somewhat fit through hiking tons in the warmer months, I was surprised to find how hard it is to finish a mile The fact that you jumped straight into 30 minutes of sustained movement and made it 22 days in a row means that you are definitely one tough cookie This video was the motivation I needed to challenge myself a little more Thanks for spreading positivity Comment from : Chris Sessions |

Thanks for sharing your journey It's remarkable how you endured for 20ish days without resting a day I would recommend doing this again but rest every other day for 30 days or see a physical therapist twice a week, while running daily I run at an above average level, 3 miles in 15:18, 40 plus miles a week avg, stretch daily, workout with weights, daily massage and rest every Sunday NO MORE INJURIES Comment from : KL Auguillard |

Kudos to you for doing this and documenting it, especially because you didn't complete your goal It's important to acknowledge that brbrI'm sure others have point this out, but when it comes to running as a new runner, you really want to do no more than 2-3 runs per week (even short ones) to build up your body to the pressures of running You can be in excellent shape otherwise, but running puts different strains on your body You can build in more runs as you get stronger, but definitely leave a day in the week for active recovery (yoga, walking, etc) Also ice baths, massage, and foam rolling help aid the healing, process This will also help with the burnout Comment from : Erin |
