What he said? Comment from : miguel trujillo |
No Nikon P2000 superzoom as the magnification of 250x? I love Nikon Coolpix P1000 with a magnification of 125x It zooms to see the ring planet of Saturn! Awesome! 😇 Comment from : Time Traveler |
I would like to see a retro body in the Z Mount The joy of dials like the Fujifilm cameras would enhance the shooting experience Yes… in APSC… that would be okay as well Comment from : Guy Loughridge |
I’d love to see a Z70 (D70 style) but with top tier features for a DX camera I think of it as a revolutionary DX camera as the D70 was quite the camera when it released 12 FPS, 262 megapixels, weather sealed, battery grip capable, 4K video options, flip out screen, back lit sensor, high iso performance that is similar to Z6 II Something along those lines Comment from : Anthony Chapa |
I hate to be negative, but if this announcement isn't mind-blowing, I'm willing to put money on Nikon exiting the camera business by the end of the year Comment from : Mad English TV |
There is one more rumor that is closer to the TRUTH NIKON will announce a digital "film holder" in 4x5 format that will fit in my DEARDORFF Field Camera Holder will bring back SERIOUS large format photography with a three-layer form factor similar to the SIGMA FOVEON Holder will have a resolution of 1256 MEGAPIXELS Oh sorry for the joke NIKON stopped making photographic equipment years ago They are moving into stoves, refrigerators, garbage disposals and toilets :-) Comment from : Ron Sindric |
Medium format for me! Comment from : Christina Ruddell |
Nikon really needs an image stabilized ultra wide zoom for its Z50 Comment from : MIke R |
I personally want to see some more firmware announcements for the Z6II and Z7II I think the next Z camera should be a D500 equivalent followed by the Z9 It would be a 1-2 for Nikon to pull in more nature/sport photographers at entry/enthusiast level and spark more lens sales Follow those announcements with the relevant lenses in the Z line and Nikon should be sitting pretty I could see it being a Z80 and Z9 That would leave room for a Z60 or 70 and a Z8 It might be worth a look into a video centric APSC body that works like the Sony A7C in a nice compact and versatile body Z30 maybe? Comment from : CofFDnSnaps |
🤔 NKION,, in the intro banner? Comment from : Joe Nadeau |
the retro style cameras could be 99 compatible to the Z6 II, but more expensive for dentists and layers and fan boys of the brand it would be very good for nikon to earn money to use most of the z6II hardware inside, just pimp the case as nice as possible Comment from : Stefan Weilhartner |
Give me a nice 18-140 walk around lens for the Z mount cameras, nothing to big and heavy! Comment from : James Philips |
Fujifilm’s main selling point over Nikon and Sony are cool dials I call the Df the most Fujifilm-like camera Nikon has ever made I stumbled into owning a Nikon Df and love the dials Not only is there room for a mirrorless Df but a rangefinder version as well, in both full frame and APS-C I believe Nikon will revisit this external control market—and when they do, some people will say they are copying Fujifilm Hopefully Nikon does so with duel card slots and Sony A9 level autofocus Comment from : Charles Hsieh Alaska |
A z70 please!!! Comment from : Nek Lamp |
Nikon Z 105MM F28 Macro 😍 Comment from : maor vaknin |
I take these rumors with a grain of salt ,brThey need a entry level apsc with a flopping flip screen (side articulating) like now Comment from : Harry burnett |
I been commenting about this same idea a df but in mirrorless on many peoples channels Comment from : Harry burnett |
I am eagerly in need of Full Frame F mount DSLR with high quality 4k video Comment from : Chidanand M |
Eagerly awaiting for the day Comment from : Sunil Kale |
I'm really hoping for a Z70 crop frame I really like my Z6II but would like the "extra reach" that I get on my D7200 I have held off on the D500 for a long time now in anticipation of a mirrorless crop frame! Comment from : Gordon McIntosh |
Thanks Matt! In a perfect world, I’d like to see a Z Mount, APSC, Retro Body with full eye focus and 25 - 30 mp for birds and other wildlife Comment from : Tom Redman |
geez, I hope the rumor is incorrect or at least incomplete There are still too many glaring gaps in the current Z mount lineup which I can't imagine comprises a smaller buyer group than the group interested in a retro styled APS-C Maybe I'm wrong and I am not slagging on APS-C (to the contrary, I hope Nikon releases a Z mount spiritual successor to the D500 which would with 999 certainty be my second Z body), but to me a 100-400, 200-600 or 70-200 f4 should have higher priority Comment from : T K |
A retro model would be nothing more than a gimmick, and would look odd with the new style lenses However, NikonRumors is usually accurate, so it's probably happening Comment from : Steady Rolling |
I want some micro lenses and pro long lenses for work Comment from : Manila Martin |
Just thinking Could you show us ones how you set up your lighting for filming your clips? Maybe also which kind of light Pleeeease Comment from : Kai Jan |
APSC with IBIS would be nice I wouldn't hate an F mount mirrorless option, either Comment from : Sean Feeney |
The reason that Fuji and Olympus are compelling is the small sizes of their lenses If Nikon wants to compete with those cameras, along with the Sony a7000, there needs to be ASPC lenses from the manufacturers and Viltrox and Sigma and Tamron I have always thought the Sony missed something when they kept making a6??? cameras, but were only making full frame pro level lenses Comment from : timzanation |
Hey Nikon, I’m waiting for rumored Z8 Comment from : boostedmaniac |
I would like to see the 24-105 zoom Comment from : Dragos Varovici |
still waiting for a p1000 Comment from : leslie fox |
If they make it mirrorless and only use F Glass That would be good Comment from : Stephen Hunt |
Maybe a retro ZF-8 Comment from : Alan F stop Pictures |
I reallly wish Nikon made a mirrorless version of the df style Comment from : Alan F stop Pictures |
I don't need entry and I don't want retro- I want a camera that outshines the competition or at least focus fast and accurately Comment from : Bussey B |
With Nikon downsizing it may be a smart move to go after Fugees market share a little but don’t run away from Sony and Canon I guess it be spreading the love kind of thing Comment from : Troy Phillips |
And Nikon have to have a blogging camera with a flip out screen!brWhy chase the market that went to Fuji and Olympus even if they got half of that market its a small marketbrBut yes every new Z camera is good news, more lens sales Comment from : DigNap15 |
If they manage to pull out the most affordable and performant sub 500$ APSC with the same quality kit lens they got a shot at the market, otherwise it's another nail in the coffin for long term This are the things they need to really do, pull a freakin' rabbit out of the hat, not just chew some leftovers from the market Comment from : Fish 3010 |
More lenses would be great The existing camera bodies are fine for me Comment from : Lex Naturae |
Nikon needs more APSC Z LENSES For someone without f lenses the apsc would be a pass right now Comment from : Steve H |
Most of all, looking fwd to a 100-400 s-line lens Comment from : Erik Bjørndal |
Bird in motion people can't be more than 3 to 5 percent Comment from : Mani Veiszadeh |
Retro aps-c could be interesting if it has good features too Comment from : Mikko Sakari Suhonen |
A good 'vlog'ing camera is certainly attractive It caters for the rarefied top end of the premium compact market Comment from : Sandy Bottom |
If I'm shooting in low light - a sunrise for example - the Z50 can't auto focus so I manually focus on infinity I also have to adjust the depth of field (aperture) to have the foreground in focus Being able to easily and quickly do that is helpful Comment from : Sandy Bottom |
I’d like to see the 18-140mm travel-friendly zoom for the Z50 that’s on the lens map Comment from : doogieham |
Medium format would be great (End result) In the mean time mass produced the D850 So all Nikon user’s have one Easy Comment from : Mike Norton |
A retro Fuji style full frame Mirrorless would be very nice, together with any new lensesbrNikon knows very well what the market wantsCan’t wait to hear what’s on offerbrThank you Matt for the nice video 👏👏 👋 Comment from : Tony Fabris |
Just saw this on another youtube video (bayou Josh) in regards to the "bird in flight photographers" - wwwfwsgov/birds/bird-enthusiasts/bird-watching/valuing-birdsphp Impressive numbers - should not be neglected Comment from : Peter Schatz |
I want a new Nikon Df, as it is, but fitted with a 16 MP CCD-sensor Comment from : MacCoinneach |
Great to watch as usual Polite in your comments as usual Your face expression towards the end sums it up - we all had been waiting a long time now It's really time for Nikon not only to announce, but to also deliver Comment from : Peter Schatz |
The best upgrade that photography needs right now is for the World to reopen Or all the gear in the world would be obsolete even before it gets released Comment from : Enrico Marconi |
Looking to purchase both 200-600 and 100-400 for my Z6 ii Truly hope Nikon can improve af on existing Z cameras with firmware updates soon Not willing to plop down $6000 in order to obtain what canon and Sony already have for half that price Watching closely to see what Nikon does over the next 6 months Comment from : Blue jays 56 |
Too many bodies on the market, need more lenses ie 100-400 at least Comment from : R M |
I'd like a Z50 II with updated auto focus & ISO performance and IBIS as well as a wide angle DX zoom lens and the 18-140MM That would be a good apsc announcement for me On the FX side I'd like to see the 100-400 and the 200-600 Don't think a new full frame camera is necessary right now, the Z6 II and Z7 II are still fairly new and sits in a great spot in the market But whatever they do put out I'm sure it will be amazing Comment from : Felix Jorgenfelt |
Food for thought, great review, still have the Nikon df and D4 Comment from : John Haldezos |
I just want a 70-200 F4 We haven't all got $3k to drop on a telephoto I can't believe they haven't even got this on the roadmap to go with the other two F4 lenses Comment from : MaxDamage182 |
Bugger Matt Lockdown is on, right when we were about to fly to Melbourne for 4 days on our way back to Tassy from Qld after visiting family Would rush out and buy a retro full frame z mount body What I would love though is a retro styled mirrorless rangefinder from Nikon Niche I know but how cool would it be! Comment from : Poniatowski |
The only Tele I watch these days is the Nikon Lens Roadmap bring on the 100-400mm! Comment from : Duncan Wallace |
I wish they would at least release specs for 24-105 Comment from : C B |
Thanks for sharing your thoughts interesting comments on Nikon rumours always enjoy hearing about new gear, but I always worry about new costs for updated gear cheers😀 Comment from : Robert Davis |
Full frame retrograde Comment from : Denny Maple |
There is actually plenty of Full Frame APSC need to be feed to survive Comment from : Jean Bartley |
D880 is what we want Comment from : Michael Seeds |
NKION ANNOUNCEMENTS Comment from : Rock3t Gr33n |
Thank you Matt Always good to hear your perspective For me, I am just waiting for the Z8 I am a proud owner of the D850, and I decided to buy a Z50 6 months ago to get a feel of the new system, before investing too much I can definitely see the benefits of mirrorless now, and would love to make the transition Unfortunately, part of what I enjoy shooting is BIF Even though "some" people on the internet say you can definitely use the Z7 II, but they all agree that is is not as accurate or quick in acquiring focus as a D850/D500/D5/D6brbrI tried it myself, and took my Z50 to a birds photography mission for a day, adapted my Tamron 150-600mm G2 to it, and I was surprised by the number of keepers! A problem that I have with the D850/Tamron combo, is that I am almost certain the lens needs to be calibrated I rarely get razor sharp eyes One of the BIG benefits of mirrorless is that I don't need to worry about calibrations or making any AF micro-adjustments This was evident by the images I took with the Z50brbrSo, I am waiting for a high mega-pixel (crucial for cropping), fast and accurate auto-focus body from Nikon I hope they don't keep me waiting for much longer I have made a decision that I will not jump ship and will give Nikon the opportunity to come up with their whole line-up of mirrorless bodies I am a Nikon shooter, and am happy with their offerings Comment from : Ahmed Awad |
Personally Matt, I would love to see a Retro APSC body, I would defo be interested in that, I've seen the concept image behind you, and I think is just looks cool Many thanks Comment from : Rob Stammers |
I actually think that Nikon has a better chance of taking market share from Fuji than they do of challenging Sony/Canon in the FF market Nikon could do great APS-C Z mount lenses Silent focusing, unlike Fuji's Comment from : Rich Rollin |
Been there, done that with Fuji Not interested in retro for the sake of retro, even though I think Nikon could do a better job Comment from : Raymond Parker |
I would rather Nikon fill the gap between the Z7ii and the upcoming Z9 rather than go for some small niche Comment from : Mona Burch |
I’m just waiting on the Z8 or Z9 Comment from : Eric Roth |
macro 200mm f4 VR that's fine Comment from : giovanni raebiger |
more third party lenses, wideangle macro, pc-e lenses Comment from : giovanni raebiger |
A Z30 in a FM body would be very interesting Comment from : Whitewalker |
my wish list? New Z5 with fully articulated screen (vlog camera), new firmware with improved autofocus tracking (human and animals and birds!!) and improved low light performance, and 100-400mm or 200-600mm, and 85mm 12 Why not a new APS-C camera but i don't mind Comment from : Julien Merelli |
Well, I did pull the trigger and still get great images with my Dƒ Even though my system is the Z series, the Dƒ will remainunless they make a FF mirrorless retro :) Comment from : Fran D |
15-35 28 would be awesome Comment from : SpaklesDr |
Need a Z mount big lens! Comment from : Bill chambers |
Give me a Nikon small medium format camera running at 80 to 100 PM and fully manual and I will sell my missus for it Comment from : Selianboy |
Definitly a full frame with better autofocus system, to finally smash sony Comment from : Roberto Morgenstern |
Announcement and Confirmation on the cameras that will be tested at the Olympics would be nice and lenses macro, tele, wider entry options for peole starting Reaching the consumer market for the Zed system would be a smarter than trying a niche camera release Comment from : Steven Prado |
IMO, retro is a niche market - not worth the effort Nikon should continue to improve the Z product line technology - better AF, better resolution on the EVF & rear screen, eliminate the blackout on the EVF FOCUS ON THE IMPROVEMENTS! The market has changed It's smaller Manufacturers have compete for a smaller market Not everyone will survive Comment from : John Roth |
Matt, love your updates, and mostly your energy As good as coffee For me, and that's all I think about, I'd prefer Nikon speed up their Z lens production releases such as the 24-105mm and 100-400mm (Pancakes just add calories) And while I love the idea of a retro APS-C (assuming Z mount), I would like that down the road and might even get for a lighter walk around, but the shortage of lenses in the Z line is an issue and that should be addressed first and foremost Everyone on the skill spectrum wants more Z mounts so that is the best opportunity for both revenue and satisfying an antsy consumer base Keep up the good work as always Matt! (A Z6ii user) Comment from : Gerry Philpott |
Nikon has enough Z bodies to satisfy most of their usersbrI do not see a "NEED" for a Retro body Get out your "F" camera if you feel nostalgicbrNikon needs to focus on getting gear to the stores!brEverything is on backorder, lenses, bodies, etcbrYou said that your cameras are doing everything you need them to do and for mostbrusers that is true, so there should be no whining for "New" bodies, if your camera isbrdoing what you need it to dobrbrHave a great day and keep that virus in check!brbrRick Comment from : Rick Pinelli |
If they do a retro camera to compete with Fuji or Olympus, it had better be top shelf APC is fine, but a higher MP than my Z-50 with a stupid number of lens readily available at launch Everybody has seen how Nikon have under-delivered on lenses for the current line-up of mirror-less cameras Nobody is going to walk away from either Fuji or Olympus if it means waiting a couple of years for lenses, even if they could run with the heavier full frame Z lenses As much as I love my Z-50, with only the two native lenses I rarely take it with me; choosing instead to "lug" my Z-6 II and it's better lenses I'm not really a fan of the Z-50's kit lenses (the 16-50 is a dust magnet!) Produce a "S" line lens for APC and I'd have the Z-50 with me always Have a number of "S" line lenses at launch and I think Nikon could steal sales from Olympus at least; Fuji too if the camera is as capable I also wonder how many of these new products have been years and years in development and Nikon keeps moving the goalpost If silver bodies suddenly became the "thing", would Nikon postpone releases for re-sprays of the line-up? Good discussion as always Here's hoping you're lock-down is minor and quick Cheers Comment from : MAC SandSquid |
