Wow! A industrial use of a stirling engine! It is pretty quiet I've seen some quiet designs out there Too bad they don't have it attached to a alternator or some thing that produces power There is still a lot of kenetic energy from each rotation that could be used for other thingsbr(Such as a alternator/electric motor)

All Stirling engines that I have seen before have had very little power And this one is just a monster Surely if it can reduce the weight and increase the efficiency A similar engine, if modified, can probably be put on a yacht

some late info this appears to be a horizontal beta config the beta config has one drawback, it does not allow the degree of thermal isolation of the sides, that the other configs do in the case of an htd stirling, engine operation should be optimized, for Speed moving components should be as light as practical high engine rpms should be Converted to (increased) torque potential, via the use of Reduction at the engine output; in other words, Mechanical Advantage (over the load) a Small radius drive pulley should be used under load, engine speed should Not be too much reduced; say, ten to fifteen percent at 5:31, small drive pulley not used googletranslate

Great Brian I too visited Johhny at Auroville some 5-6 years back and was delighted to see a real big Stirling engine working he mentioned that it worked without any need for service I have also read your project book Did you know that there's another rotting engine in Auroville? I wanted to scavange and restore it but i could not :(
