I love how out of all the drugs that could possibly cause psychosis like meth, lsd, shrooms, but no The easiest and most consistent way to become psychotic is with fucking benadryl I'm always afraid to take benadryl because I am diagnosed bipolar 1 with psychotic features It doesn't sound right to combine a deliriant substance in any quantity with a psychotic disorder

I took lsd and had phycosis for months but I never hallucinated I just was delusional but not as delusional as a lot of people just was scared and thought I was in a simulation now i rarely have those delusional and if I do there just thoughts that I don’t believe I took no medication I believe I have dp/dr from the incident tho

I think this is so interesting I have depression and anxiety with adhd and bed My family also has a history of mental health problems I can’t understand people who think medication is a bandaid solution And I also have noticed from personal experience that weed is disastrous for me and sends me into deep paranoia and the belief in some cases that I’m stuck in a time loop or that people around me want to kill me

At around age 40 I became psychotic once a month during PMS I'm a controlled bipolar2, but these episodes were definitely hormone related I took birth control pills continuously and stopped my periods But due to my age and being a smoker, I had to stop taking them The periods returned & so did the outbursts I had a hysterectomy about a month ago & do not require hormones of any kind It was a life saver!

I had a week long episode of psychosis after contracting e coli I’m thankful that my doctor was able to treat the root cause, but it look many months with a therapist to unravel the PTSD from having psychosis It was a very scary time, but with the right treatment you can go back to a normal life

Have you ever heard of the idea of an autism to psychosis spectrum? Basically the theory is that autism is characterized by an overreliance on controlled processing, and psychosis is the opposite end of that, with an overreliance on intuitive/automatic processing I’m interested in whether or not there’s any merit to this theory, bc it makes sense from my end of that spectrum but I don’t know enough to know if it makes sense holistically
