Years ago when I read Karen Kingston's great book Clear you Clutter with Feng Shui my mind was blown by the idea that open space in a home -- the babsence/b of stuff -- can be of value Now that I've experienced for myself the calm, good feeling something as simple as a clear counter can give me it motivates me to let go of more Minimal stuff, maximum good feelings! I didn't enjoy cleaning either! I now find so much joy from cleaning because my mind is relaxed when my space is tidy I like to listen to audiobooks while cleaning I often find more things to clean just because I enjoy the book!
